I would consider myself a bit of a "foodie" when it comes to Toronto's quick-service, health-centric restaurants. I've tried them all. My biggest issue with these restaurants in the past was that you could never seem to hit on all three of the following:

Quality ingredients Good portion sizes Good value

More often than not I would find that I was choosing two (and sometimes just one) of the above. This all changed when I found Salus. The proteins are very high quality, the veggies are incredibly fresh and the portion sizes ensure that I'm never hunting around for a protein bar 30 minutes after lunch. Best of all, the price is extremely reasonable.

The staff is very friendly, the restaurant is kept clean and the line moves fast.

I first went to Salus months ago and have waited to try it on numerous occasions before writing a review. Too often with these restaurants I will be let down after an initial visit that was promising. Each time I have been to Salus, the food has been amazing and consistent.

The owner has done a great job and I would encourage him to look into more locations (maybe further south downtown and closer to my work LOL!) so that I can go more often. I have attached a picture of the custom box that I usually order. Some other favourites of mine are the Romaine Calm salad and the chia pudding (which makes for a great...

Salus, as in the Roman goddess of safety, salvation and welfare, is owned and operated by Adam who shows his love of healthy food & living by the fresh and tasteful dishes he prepares in front of you counter side now a mere 3 weeks into his opening day.

Limited seating with 6 stools, half facing Carlton and half a beautiful decorative wall.

Proteins range from chicken, steak and salmon with various veggies and base such as brown rice. I ordered the regular size box with Quinoa, chicken and shrimp. It came fully loaded with my choice of wasabi dressing and was ample for a meal. Fair price of $11.97 before tax. The shrimps certainly did not disappoint. A variety of chilled drinks such as bottled Canteen coffee, Evian water, etc and house made veggie or fruit shakes are available.

Easy street level access for mobility impaired.

UPDATE: A return visit for the steak. Individually cooked to your liking (medium rare for me) with blue cheese. It'll knock your socks off. If you wear socks that is. The beef is marinated for...

Let me start off by saying I never leave reviews, but in this instance I have to give credit where credit is due.

I travel frequently for work and find it difficult to eat well on the road. I have no problem paying a premium for a meal if its fresh, heathy and satisfies my hunger. The issue is that I usually I only have 30 minutes to quickly scarf something down in between meetings.

I stumbled upon Salus as I was looking for an alternative to my usual boring salad bowl and let me just say, what an absolute treat The gentleman behind the counter, Aaron I believe, made a custom bowl in front of me with some of the freshest and crispest vegetables I have had in a long time. The portion size was massive and the price point was laughably cheap for the value.

I really have to tip my cap to the people there. They have struck gold with this one. I can't wait until work takes me back to Toronto so I can...

This place is ridiculous! We ordered "grilled" chicken, mushrooms, and "grilled" shrimp in one salad; and tofu, crunchy chick peas, and edamame in another. The salads came mixed up with a little of each in both orders. There was not grilled anything. Just chicken with an implied grilling strip on it, and the shrimp was cocktail shrimp that you would defrost and have with the red sauce. And for the pleasure of this debacle we paid $34.95 to have it delivered to our house. Talk about first world problems, right? But a problem nevertheless, because for the expense you can't even get what you asked for.
