I thought to try something new than my usual go-to breakfast place because I always pass by this place but I never went inside because it's on the way to work and I always have no time for breakfast so I end up eating later when I get to my work area. However, I finally had time to visit the place that's been open since forever but I had too high of an expectation and expected to be good like the pictures I see online and outside at the posters. Coffee was mediocre, too many home fries and not enough of the main meal portion (of the toast or omelette or whichever). We came late and had ordered one portion of the early bird breakfast for now just to see if it's enough for two people to share. It wasn't, so I thought to order another one but the servers said it's past the early bird special price because it was after 10am as is by like, 5-10 mins. Luckily however, the cashier asked inside first if he can still make one more and he gladly complied which was great. Though, in the beginning it was very hard to convince them to even grant the request even though we were 10 mins over the early bird time. I was about to get upset and pack up my stuff and leave after eating the one portion with my mom if that was the case. When it was time to go, we thought it was a bit pricey and not worth the prices marked on the menu due to inconsistency and no service of refilling the coffee or water. It's truly a hit or miss if you're to din here for some savoury food options. Sometimes it's too bland, sometimes it's too salty or sweet to your liking. Originally, they greet you happily and with big smiles, but overtime, I felt eyes piercing through my head and felt hated on, like the staff didn't want us there and we felt rushed to eat because we were intimidated to even stay longer, so we sped-ate and ran out of there. Now I know not to service this place ever again. Did not live up to its hype and expectations as promoted like everyone else said...
Read moreMy family and I wanted to try a new breakfast place for my sister's birthday, so we decided to go to Panagio's. I went in to get us a table, only to be ignored by the only server in the restaurant. When she finally acknowledged me, she told me to seat myself, and I quickly informed her I had a party of 9 people. She gave me a dirty look and told me we had to wait (and did not skimp on the attitude). We waited patiently, but we started to notice that the waitress was not even trying to arrange seating for us. Other customers were coming in, and she would allow them to sit down before us while very expertly avoiding eye contact with us. Another customer who had already been seated mentioned to the waitress that we were there first and that we had been waiting, but the server ignored her. Finally, a couple took it upon themselves to clear their own table and offered it up to a part of our group. Another table nearby could fit two, and then the remaining 3 of us sat at another table halfway across the restaurant.
Even at this point, with the 9 of us broken up into small tables, the waitress did not acknowledge us at all: no menus were distributed, no apologies for the wait, no glance in our directions. The waitress looked extremely miserable to be there and showed no urgency in trying to accommodate us.
We waited a little while longer - we tried to be understanding about the fact that she was the only server - but she continued to pretend we were not there. So we decided to leave, and she did nothing but shrug her shoulders.
She lost 9 potential customers from our party alone, plus another group of 5, and a couple of smaller parties. Regular customers actually apologized on the restaurant's behalf saying, "It's not usually like this here..." Unfortunately chances look pretty slim for us...
Read moreI had passed by this place a couple of times before and it always looked promising. So I finally decided to give it a try.
The setting is pretty similar to Eggsmart. At the same time prices are higher and options aren't unique or diverse. The sevice is at the best average.
When we asked the server if the potatoes could be replaced with a fruit bowl (common practice in other breakfast places) she gave a glance to the single sad piece of orange on the plate. And when we asked for the possibility of other fruits, she said that it would cost extra. She was sweet enough to let us know that there was once a time in the past when they used to offer such a replacement.
The experience with food wasn't much better. I ordered a breakfast burrito. The scrambled egg inside it had way too much oil/butter. There was no sign of flavor anywhere around. So much so that even trying to get a feel of it with ketchup/hot sauce failed miserably. I ate it for two reasons. First, I was famished and second, I paid so much for it.
Overall, it was a quite a disappointing experience. I don't remember when was the last time I felt this disappointed with...
