They were really rude and made me cry. My grandmas here in palliative care. I’ve been awake for days sobbing and trying to hold it together, haven’t eaten in days and decided to try a coffee at second cup. I wanted an iced latte but I suppose I Accidentally said iced coffee. I asked for a single shot espresso instead of three and they confirmed so I had assumed I said latte. After they rung up my order and handed it to me I questioned asking if it was a latte. I work at a second cup location in Toronto so I know what a latte looks like. They confirmed and sent me on my way. I got a few feet away and took a sip and walked back in. I apologized profusely and asked if they could re make it as a latte as I already paid for a shot of espresso and milk and added syrup. They were extremely EXTREMLY rude to me, rolling their eyes, huffing and puffing, telling me I would have to buy a new latte or to basically get out. I was practically in tears, continuing to apologize while they yelled at me it was my fault and not there’s, I was wrong and to pay or leave. I relented and paid for a new iced latte and left crying. You are located in a hospital. Take into account peoples situations. I’d say I would never go here again but I am still stuck here and you are unfortunately the only coffee around for myself and my family memebers . Oh I was also told today that you can’t do a liquid sugar pump in an iced coffee and I’d have to get something else. I know this isn’t true, again I WORK at a second cup downtown. Your customer service is some of the worst I’ve ever seen in my life. I do the exact same job and could never even THINK of treating a customer especially one in a hospital like that. You’d think you would have the most empathy based on location but clearly not. Worst experience I’ve ever ever had at any coffee place, also the first time I’ve ever wrote a review on anything, but if your staff is going to treat people horribly then people should know. Believe me if I could give this a...
Read moreThe girl who works the evening shift here at the St Joe's hospital location is the slowest worker I've ever seen in foodservice, bar none. Last night it took her 23 minutes to prepare four drinks for three customers, two of which were teas, and bag two scones. When it came to my order, she challenged why I wanted sweetener in it, and rolled her eyes when I confirmed that I wanted a single sweetener added. The line was out the door, customers were walking away, and she was shuffling around and seemingly forgetting why she was at food prep stations, standing motionless staring at the wall or equipment.
I receive care at this hospital frequently and PRAY that she is not there when I visit, as I truly have not seen a lack of urgency or compassion for the sick/injured/IV-carrying patients that stand and wait while she dawdles, in any other food service space.
Urgency and consideration for the discomfort and pain of patients needs to be considered when staffing this cafe. This person desperately needs training and consistent...
Read morehad a very negative experience with a barista named “Amandeep”. East Indian girl probably on her 30’s. She was very rude and argumentative with me. I was placing an order and she repeatedly tells me that it’s not available. Meanwhile I am able to see the product. I then paid for my coffee and left. As I was adding the sugar to my drink, I noticed the cream was finished. When I asked her to refill the cream she completely ignored me and was verbally expressing her frustration to her colleague. I have never experienced this type of unprofessionalism at other coffee chains like Tim Hortons, Starbucks or even Timothy’s. I’ve decided that I will no longer purchase from second cup as long as they employ people like Amandeep who treats customers awfully. I can see why other people are also complaining about her attitude.
UPDATE: The review left by SUNIL SHETTY is really AMANDEEP herself. Previously she used the name Colin Bartley and other different accounts to leave a good review for herself. It has...
