Recently moved to Toronto from Vancouver. The bar is set pretty high for sushi. I spent a *very* long time researching where I could find sushi comparable to what we had back home. I found Sake Sushi and without a doubt its 5 stars. This place is better than the last take out spot we had on the west coast. We’ve ordered from Sake at least four times now, and it’s been consistent and delicious every time. You’re greeted very warmly when you arrive, you can tell the store front and back of house is very clean, and that translates into the food. The presentation is top notch, and you can see the level of care put into each item. Sushi rice is great quality, meaning your rolls stay intact, and all ingredients are very fresh. Portions are appropriate to the cost, and there are item incentives if you hit certain price points. I can’t recommend this place enough. Special shout-out to the spicy tuna roll and salmon aburi. Highly recommend Sake Sushi for your go to choice in the city. Worth every penny. (If I could make one recommendation to the restaurant: the gyoza. Whenever I order sushi, gyoza is a must. However, back home, the type of cooking style for the gyoza at most sushi restaurants was always a choice, deep fried or pan fried. Would there be a possibility to add an option for pan fry gyoza? Personally I find them more enjoyable this way. Either way, it’s good, I just thought I’d put it out there)

Great take out only place on roncy! There were no seats in the establishment. Great quality sashimi which has some taste and wasn’t frozen when we got it lol. I liked their sashimi and would order it again! The white aburi dragon roll was creamy with crispy tempura and a surprise piece of olive on top. The seaweed side salad was also quite large and wonderful. We also got a complimentary gyoza which was nicely fried and crispy and two miso soups for our meal. Came with utensils, two soya sauces, two ginger and wasabi cups and two brown rice tea bags which was nice! Good job! The main disappointment was their moriwase 12 piece aburi sushi set which was not impressive at all. I would Not recommend getting Aburi here. It was just regular sushi pieces (not pressed), blow torched and drenched in tons of spicy mayo. Even the unagi was completely drenched in spicy mayo and tasted weird!! I was disappointed because I’ve had aburi before from other places like Ja Bistro, Miku, Torch pressed etc and the individual pieces had condiments or sauces which complement the fish and the rice was also different…. The pieces were not super drenched in spicy mayo sauce. Tbh it completely ruined the aburi experience and gave it negative stars. All in all, I would go back for sashimi and maki only and not aburi. Ps they offer 10% when you pay with cash!

UPDATE x2: it's now been YEARS since my review. This place has not changed and if anything has become even BETTER. It's so good. And still so highly recommended! They deserve all their success. Heck, I'm going to order takeout from Sake tomorrow! Update: More than 1 year later and I still eat here very often and all of my friends love it too. Really consistent, fresh dishes and amazing service. - Absolutely amazing. I'm really picky when it comes to sushi in Toronto and have been meaning to give this place a try. I went in right when he opened at 3:30pm and the customer service was really kind and friendly. I ordered an assortment of rolls, sashimi, and nigiri, and everything seemed fresh, tasted right, and high quality. The plating is really nice and his attention to detail seems like it flows through the whole place. I will definitely eat here again, I live in the area and there is nothing else this good in queen west/parkdale/dundas aside from only one other place that also recently opened up. Got to support places like this and hope they stay busy and quality remains the same, I will be going back many times this spring!

What a terrible staff, i knocked on the table as i had a order to pick and noone was at counter and they were busy laughing in the kitchen for straight 5 minutes… One of the staff member came to give me that order and started yelling at me that- she is not my pet so i don’t have to knock on the table, clearly i told her you guys were talking and ignored my hello 3 times , i knocked and you reacted to that knock, also she added you can speak English so come and say hello, excuse me instead of knocking. In reality she was busy talking in kitchen when i said hello 3 times. I clearly said you are over reacting and then she gave me a thumbs down and put a fake feedback for ignoring note. What a shame and what a unprofessional employees.. they treat uber drivers as a joke, Remember we are your customers, you are getting paid because of us.

A BIG DISLIKE AND GONNA ASK MY FRIENDS TO AVOID THIS STORE.

Edit: They replied to my review and defending the employee, what a Loser shop owner who is taking care of this store with no professionalism, we are your customer, if customer is not picking up the order, he is sending us to pick on his behalf - you getting money either ways- understand your role.

believe it or not but you korean people in meant to be japanese traditional dish shop do over react. Idk how they bringing up culture in this situation lol

IDC about your feedback that you gave me as its fake, it will go away soon but this review won’t thats a real...
