Shawarma Elsabil — Restaurant in Toronto

I tried out El Sabil at the encouragement of a friend who claimed it was "the best shawarma anyone will ever have" and I have to say he was not lying. The owner is nice and very friendly, he explained the reason behind the ingredients as he was making the shawarma; texture, flavour, etc. and gave me a tip so that I could easily eat it without any mess as I was also wearing a nice shirt.

He is kind, thoughtful and will happily make you the best shawarma you have eaten.

The only critisism is that sometimes the owner can be a bit busy loading/offloading deliveries as he seems to run the store himself but I have never had to go eat somewhere else as he is very quick.

All in all 5/5 I went back after lunch and grabbed another 2 shawarmas for dinner that night, and today I am going with another friend to share this wonderful little store that has been operating for...

I am highly disappointed. This place used to have the best shawarmas and I used to come here for 6-8 years, now they have gone down the drain.

I recently visited El Sabil shawarma shop, and I must say I was quite disappointed with the experience. The shawarma, which used to be good and fresh, was cold and stale even though I ordered them 5 minutes before coming in. Even the ingredients didn't taste as fresh as they once did. What made matters worse was the high cost – $10 for a shawarma and $5 for fries that were so dry and stale they had to be thrown out…. I couldn’t even eat them. It's no surprise that the shop seems to have lost business. I hope they can address these issues and improve the quality of their food to regain their former reputation. If you want to increased prices to fit in with inflation, at least up the quality of the food. Will not be...

Best place ever, I’ve been coming here over 15 years. The owner is very friendly and professional. No matter where I move , I only get my shawarma from this place. I do not eat any Mediterranean food anywhere else. The food is cut fresh daily and you could taste the freshness. Once they make your food once, they knows exactly how you like it and will always make it that exact same way. The customers in here are always very friendly, and I meet somone new each time I come here. The owner helped me by letting me keep my business cards at the front even without hesitation and gave me so many good business advice. The friends I bring here always come back often on their own too. I think it’s a mix of the great food, the very helpful professional approach and the overall vibe of the place.
