Pizza Pizza has been around for a while. I've seen and tasted the difference a few years can make on a restaurant.
The price: Slightly lower than the competition*. Their medium pepperoni pizza has only gone up a dollar to $5.99 in the past year or so.
The availability: As this is in a plaza, it isn't too difficult to get to if you live in the area. Also, you can shop while you're waiting for your food (assuming you're not getting a slice of course). It opens at 11:00 AM, just in time for people who want lunch.
The quality: Lower than their competition, but higher than a few such as Gino's. There is the odd time that they will exceed my expectations but at the same time they might burn the bottom of the pizza, which only happens if you overcook it.
The area: As long as you don't go on a holiday or on a Sunday, you should find parking spots close to the Pizza Pizza. There are no other pizza places along Lawrence until you go west of Kennedy and there is another Pizza Pizza at Midland and Eglinton.
Additional info: I've had really pleasant experiences with the staff there. They uphold the Health and Safety Act really well (the place is clean for the most part). As for condiments, you have to ask for that. Sometimes they won't restock the ketchup bottle but all you have to do is ask. One problem I have with this Pizza Pizza is their tendency to undercook the bacon, which can be solved by cooking it separately. Also, during the school year, it isn't the most pleasant place to go to during lunch time or past 3:00 PM.
Overall, I'm giving this Pizza Pizza a 3 simply because it is keeping up with the competition by delivering pizza that is cheaper than the others, although their quality is not always there. I will say that they have the best creamy garlic dip, though.
I hope you enjoyed my review. Drive safe and explore Toronto. :)
*I based this off of the prices of local medium pizzas. Domino's used to offer their medium pizza for the same price...
Read moreThis is an update to my previous review, which was glowing: It seems that the ownership has changed. The staff is different. The pizza is terrible. I used to travel halfway across Scarborough to pickup pizza from this location because it was consistently excellent with lots of sauce and lots of toppings, cooked perfectly. I ordered extra sauce on both of my pizzas yesterday, and it was hard to find the sauce. The toppings were few and far between. The pizza took 30 minutes to produce, and the place was not especially busy. I didn't even ask for the pizzas to be free after 20 minutes of waiting because I thought that the employees seemed new, and I didn't mind if they took a little longer, as long as the pizzas were excellent, as they always have been. Now I see that good pizzas at this location are just a memory, and they make pizza the same as every other location in this sorry franchise. I used to always travel to this location, and tell my friends to do the same; but those days are over. I will not return. Look elsewhere if you are looking for a pizza that you hope to enjoy eating.
This is the best location I have tried! I drive here for takeout rather than go to the location in my neighbourhood, which I dislike. The pizza is always well-made and tasty! It seems that this location is family owned and operated because the staff is consistent, and provides consistent high standards. This is unique for this brand of pizza franchise, which is typically characterized by transient staff who only care about speed, and rarely are concerned with quality. I always return to this location, and I enthusiastically...
Read moreWhat a worst people to deal with. We were fasting today and went to dine in that Pizza Pizza Location. We already left going there long time ago just because of their rude behavior, worst customer service and poor attitude. I was standing at the counter for almost 10 mins for place an order but the 2 ignorants working in the kitchen didn't bother at all taking my order. I called them finally for the order after standing long the rude and illiterate person came with a nasty smile on his face and asked me to wait more because he was busy talking trash with his kitchen buddy regarding another customers order which I can hear clearly and they were thinking because they were talking in Hindi language and thought I might don't know that language. What a shame on them.
Almost 15 mins I asked again that pls take my order as it was almost 7:40pm and we had to break our fast by 8:05pm the same illiterate man came and told me that why would I care if you are fasting and finger pointed on the other ignorant in the kitchen and said that he was fasting too and he's busy making pizzas.
I asked him his name and told him that I'll complain he said with his non shameful smile that he will not tell me his name and I can do whatever he care a damn. Other ignorant ignored my call as well when I tried asking his name.
Please DO NOT go to this Location and spend your precious money and time with this kind of unacceptable service and behaviors.
We left without eating to other Pizza Pizza Location and they were just smiling like fools on us and didn't even bothered saying anything, stopping or apologizing for their worst and...
