I am beyond upset and unbelievably disappointed with this restaurant. Yesterday, March 1st at 6 PM, I decided to order from here after seeing good reviews. Big mistake. I ordered two chicken shawarmas, one with extra meat that I PAID for. I live just 15 minutes away, yet my order took a ridiculous one hour to arrive. That should have been my first red flag.

But the real issue? The food itself. Instead of actually adding the extra chicken into the shawarma like any reasonable person would expect, they threw it in a plastic container on the side. What am I supposed to do—unwrap my food and try to shove the meat in myself? Absolutely no common sense.

And then there’s the shawarma itself. Whoever prepped these did a horrendous job. The wraps were skinny, barely had any filling, and to top it off, they were ripped in multiple places, making them impossible to hold or eat without falling apart. It was a complete disaster.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, my partner found a piece of bone or hard cartilage in their wrap. Absolutely disgusting. I cannot believe the lack of care in both food quality and service. The employees clearly have no clue what they’re doing and no respect for proper food handling.

Avoid this place unless you want to waste your time, money, and appetite.

Shawarma Q: The Best Shawarma in Toronto?

Recently, I visited Shawarma Q, and I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Conveniently located, it immediately catches your attention with its cozy atmosphere and friendly staff.

Food

The star of the show here is definitely the shawarma! I tried the falafel wrap, and it was absolutely incredible. The meat was juicy and perfectly spiced, while the veggies were fresh and crunchy. The sauce complemented the flavors beautifully, making the dish even more appetizing. The portions are generous, which was a delightful surprise. I also tried their hummus and falafel — an ideal choice for vegetarians.

Service

The staff is welcoming and efficient. Despite the place being popular, my order was ready within minutes. They even recommended the best sauce to pair with my selection, which I really appreciated.

Atmosphere

The place is small but cozy. There are a few tables for those who want to dine in, but most people opt for takeout. Everything is clean, and the vibe reminds me of a classic Middle Eastern eatery.

Price

The prices are more than reasonable for Toronto, especially considering the quality of the food. The value for money here is unbeatable.

Conclusion: Shawarma Q is a place you’ll want...

Shawarma Q is truly a hidden gem in downtown Toronto! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the mouthwatering aroma of freshly grilled meat and warm spices. Fawad, the chef and owner, treats every customer like family — he’s welcoming, passionate, and clearly dedicated to serving top-quality food.

The shawarma itself is on another level: tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, with fresh toppings and sauces that balance every bite. You can tell the ingredients are always fresh, and the portions are generous. The garlic sauce is easily one of the best I’ve had anywhere — creamy, rich, and full of flavor without being overpowering.

What really stands out is the care and consistency. Whether you order a wrap, a plate, or something custom, Fawad makes sure it’s done right and tastes amazing every time. It’s rare to find a place where the food, hospitality, and atmosphere all come together this perfectly.

If you’re near Bay Street and craving authentic, delicious shawarma made with passion and respect for the craft — Shawarma Q is the place to go. Thank you, Fawad, for your incredible food and hospitality. You’ve earned a...
