What I orderedšŸ‘‡šŸ½ šŸ£Sushi combo Lunch A: California roll, salmon roll, and spicy tuna roll šŸ£Sashimi appetizer (but with only salmon and tuna, no whitefish) Everything was delicious - The rolls were a perfect size with more filling than rice. Sashimi was sliced nice and thick and was very fresh šŸ‘ŒšŸ¼ I dined solo and was seated immediately upon arriving. I was given the private booth at the back of the restaurant where I could eat in peace šŸ˜‘ As soon as I was seated the waitress immediately served me hot green tea. When she took my order, my food came within minutes and the waitress even popped in again to refill my tea, which was nice. My reasoning for only giving 4/5 stars was the fact that I ALWAYS order lots of xtra ginger and I’ve never been charged for it, so when I saw on the menu that there was an extra fee, that was a bit of a turnoff. It’s like charging for extra wet naps at a Rib/steakhouse… That just seems odd to me, and kind of cheap! šŸ˜’ I’m also only giving 4 stars because my bill came to a whopping $36 after tax and tip ! Which seems a little steep for basic California and salmon rolls. But despite that, it was yummy šŸ˜‹ I’ll be back to try the Donburi! _______ ***UPDATED*** Still 4/5 stars but updated to include new pics of donburi and chirashi bowls

If you're in Toronto and love sushi, Tokyo Sushi is a must-try! This cozy spot has quickly become my favorite place for sushi, and I’m always impressed with the freshness of the fish. Whether it's salmon, tuna, crab, or shrimp the fish always melts in your mouth, and I’ve never had a bad experience here. The atmosphere is so welcoming—every time you leave, the entire staff says "bye" in the warmest, cutest way. It makes the dining experience even more special. The staff is incredibly polite and attentive, and they go out of their way to ensure you have a great meal. Sometimes they even offer complimentary hot tea, which adds a nice touch to the already delightful experience. I highly recommend Tokyo Sushi—whether you're a sushi connoisseur or just someone looking for a cozy, delicious meal, or a sushi date this place won’t disappoint!

Came here a few weeks ago on a Monday night as part of a group of 10. Most restaurants would be happy to have such a big boost on a typically slow night. The ā€œhostessā€ who greeted us actually seemed a bit annoyed to see us all but showed us all to a table. Meal itself was fine but like other reviews have noted, the dinner ā€œspecialsā€ are overpriced, a bit skimpy and really nothing special. Cleanliness of this place is also questionable - check out how nasty and dirty the curtains are that cover the washroom entrance. After we finished eating everyone was relaxing, drinking and chatting for a bit to let the food settle. We hardly had a chance to do this when Hostess and her assistant came by with everyone’s bills to collect even though no one had asked for them. Everyone paid and tipped well and I’m estimating they made at least $350-400 from our group after maybe 45 minutes of actual ā€œserviceā€. Just as we were starting to relax and settle back into the conversation, Hostess comes back over and says, ā€œThank you very much we’re closed now!ā€ She then starts clearing our table while everyone is still sitting and effectively kicked us out. By the way, we were a tame group, pretty quiet and not disturbing any of the other guests of which there were like maybe 6 others. To top it all off she hustled us out of there at 9:30 pm when the sign said the place closes Monday at 10. I definitely wont be back and anyone who thinks this is good Japanese food needs to get out more. Do not waste your time, money or effort here again for nothing special food and shoddy service. And btw this is dedicated to the clown who wrote one five star review that thinks all the one star reviews for this place...

I’m so sad to see what this place has become. I’ve been a customer for almost 10 years here and the recent ownership change(pretty sure there was one) has shown me what happens when you sell your restaurant to incompetent owners.

I ordered a Kaisen Don and their new ā€œCrazy Rollā€ that the owner kept trying to sell me on. The Kaisen don seafood was extremely fishy and tasted off. Not to mention the mountain of rice underneath the seafood. Not sure why they needed to include enough rice to feed a family of four and not quality fish.

Moving onto the crazy roll - this was genuinely a ā€œcrazyā€ experience. After my first bite of a piece I knew something was off with the salmon. My girlfriend immediately had the same reaction as well, so we called the owner to tell them about our experience with the salmon. She proceeded to try and tell us how fresh their fish was and how wrong we were. We told her to try it herself, and she took the fish, went to the back (pretty sure she never tried it) and came back to tell us we were complaining for no reason. We insisted the fish was off given our previous positive experiences, but she still would not budge. We asked her to then take the order off our bill, but then she started calculating how many princes we ate and offered us 50% off the dish as her best offer. We told her she was losing a customer by doing so, and she said it doesn’t matter to her.

Will never come back here again and strongly recommend everyone to STAY AWAY. Unless you want some nasty sushi.

RIP Tokyo Sushi. I’ll always have fond memories of when it was...
