the quality of the drinks here is amazing! the coffee is strong and their specialty drinks are very flavourful, even at a lower sugar level. the egg coffee is a winner for sure!
the family that runs this cafe is so nice, and i love how they've themed the cafe to be based on their culture. it's cafes like this that blend north american culture with other cultures that really make me feel like i am in toronto.
the store is beautiful and the atmosphere is perfect for getting some work done, especially with their relatively long hours. there is only one table near an outlet, however, so you would have to come early to snatch it. it can get quite loud with their egg coffee machine, so a good pair of headphones would be useful.
there are a few things that could use improvement. the pastries and the orange hot chocolate are not great. the orange hot chocolate has an odd texture, with orange pulp and a powdery rather than the silky smooth hot chocolaty feel you would expect with some hint of orange from its peel being boiled in some milk or some extract put in the drink. i do emphasize that this is the only drink i have had from them which i did not like. finally, i have also found their hot lids are not great at holding the coffee inside; i barely walked with it before the contents started to drip onto my (no longer)...
Read moreEver since I tried Vietnamese coffee, I've been hooked and this especially extends to white coffee. So, you could imagine my excitement when I discovered The Oats Kafe and flew myself over at the first opportunity. I ordered the ICED BAC XIU (white coffee), offered in one size only and priced at $3.99 plus tax. I'm a coffee drinker that can enjoy both an unsweetened and sweetener cup. The thing I love about Vietnamese coffee is that despite its sweet nature, their coffee is so aromatic, fragrant, and bold, that it still remains the spotlight of the show. Condensed milk is typically used to make these drinks which also add that rich and smooth texture to the beverage. Absolutely perfect rendition of this classic, just wish there was less ice so that I could enjoy a few more sips of this deliciousness!
The decor of this place is very minimalistic which I love. There's quite a lot of seating and despite COVID, there is dine-in allowed.
Service is extremely friendly and you could really see their passion when crafting the beverages!
Google appears to have different hours than posted on their doors, which is 7 am to 7 pm.

Read moreThis is a really cute café and I especially coming here for their teas. I love their lychee tea and their new strawberry tea :)They taste super fresh! They also have a good selection of pastries that are great to grab if you are on the go!
The vibe of the cafĂ© is also perfect for studying in, and itâs secluded enough that you wonât be distracted from things going on outside! However, If you do like to study with pen and paper, there may only be one spot near the entrance that you will be able to write as most of their tables have gaps in them (I think their tables are the ikea bistro sets). This isnât a problem if you are studying with a laptop or tablet though! :)
The only thing Iâve ever ordered from here that wasnât great was their avocado toast. Itâs 6 dollars for just simple dempsters style bread and avacado mash which I think was from one of those pre portioned store-bought containers. This is not worth the price in my opinion, but they do have a lot of other really delicious options to choose from such as their 5 dollar make your own...
