Soups were good, only if you are nearby, but pay attention to what you're being charged.
We ordered 2x vegan soups and 2x meat soups.
They were: Split Pea $12 Smoked Tomato $12 Beef Stew $13 Mulligatawny with Chicken $13
We thought the vegan soups tasted better than the meat soups. Vegan soups were flavorful. Meat soups had nice, visible chunks of celery, meat, and other ingredients.
I was charged $50 in total.
(Edit: The exact charge was $50.00. I'm presuming taxes are included because again I don't have a receipt, and which is still different from $49 the owner claims I should have been charged.)
I didn't ask for a receipt, but in hindsight, I should have.
(Edit: The employee did offer me a receipt but I declined for a copy of it.)
Despite purchasing in shop, and advertised as "2 for $20" and "2 for $22" for vegan and meat soups, I was charged full price.
(Edit: The employee who helped us with our purchase was the one who pointed to menu and the available soup options as well the advertised prices. The employee did not make any mention that the beef stew would be priced higher. The beef stew was listed under the meat soup options for the 2 for $22 promotion, and there were no indications that it was higher priced than the other meat soup. To be clear, the options we purchased were selected under the "2 for" promotion on the menu.)
I didn't notice this until I got home and it wasn't worth the trip back to dispute the charge especially since I already left the store and I didn't have a receipt.
Before making the trip, we tried calling. No one answered. When we arrived in store, we were the only customers.
(Edit: Looked at my phone history. Called at 2:48pm and 3:05pm on Thursday. We did not leave a voicemail. Both times were within business hours, and before we arrived in store.)
We may return but we're not in hurry, and only if we're in the neighbourhood.
Edit: The owner made a response about what I was charged and I've edited my post accordingly. It wasn't worth going back to dispute then, and it's even less so now. For my part, I should have paid more attention to what I was being charged before tapping my credit card and asked for a receipt. It could be a one-off instance. Regardless, I wanted it noted for others...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is simply fantastic. I miss everyday I am not in the vicinity to get my morning coffee + snack/ breakfast.
I've never been to a more warm and welcoming cafe. As someone who takes his health seriously I value high quality and tasty food, and have never been happier going anywhere else for tasty snacks alongside my morning coffee.
Everyone working there is delightful, ina freat mood, and really brightens the place up - I didn't have to meet the owner to be able to tell that she really values her customers and employees!
I'm no longer working in the area but I will have to travel here just to support them sometime soon, since this place is such a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOn a whim I got a couple of soups from ubereats from here- I did read that it was low-sodium, preservative-free- thatās great as we are trying to eat healthy.
Itās easy to add salt and pepper. We got the chicken noodle soup my husband loved- he never asks where I get the food from if I order ubereats lol, but he was really curious with this- good sign!
I loved my split-pea soup- hereās a tip, if you have it, add a few drops of liquid smoke to your bowl, mix it up and thank me later. Absolutely yum, fresh, guilt-free, and lasting for a couple meals for two people.
Canāt wait to visit the...
