Sunrise Restaurant: A Mixed Plate Experience
Stepping into Sunrise Restaurant, I was immediately struck by how spotlessly clean the place was. The food display was beautifully arranged, a true feast for the eyes that instantly got my appetite going. My server was incredibly kind and nice, adding to the welcoming atmosphere.
I ordered the special of the day: jerk chicken, rice and peas, generously topped with their popular oxtail gravy. When it arrived, the serving size was good, and the food was wonderfully warm. I couldn't wait to dive in!
And then... the plot thickened, or rather, the chicken soured. To my utmost disappointment, the jerk chicken tasted almost spoiled. I even gave it a cautious sniff, just to make sure my taste buds weren't playing a cruel trick on me. Nope, the aroma confirmed my suspicions.
Adding to the culinary conundrum, the rice and peas weren't particularly great, and despite being topped with "oxtail gravy," there was absolutely no flavor of oxtail to be found. It felt like a missed opportunity for a crucial flavor component.
Now, I'm not one to waste money, so I valiantly attempted a few more bites. This led to an internal debate of epic proportions: "Do I risk a potential gastronomic adventure to the emergency room, or do I accept the bitter taste of financial loss?" After a moment of profound contemplation (and perhaps a slight shiver), I wisely chose the latter. My money might be gone, but at least my stomach remained a zone of peace.
It's a shame, as the service and presentation were really good, but the main dish and its supposed accompaniments unfortunately overshadowed these positives.
Overall: A clean establishment with lovely staff and appealing presentation, but the main dish fell short in a rather alarming way, and the sides didn't quite hit the...

Read moreToday I ordered the jerk chicken extra value meal and a beef patty. The food was AWFUL.
The food came with small chicken pieces, poorly cooked rice which tasted stale. The vegetables tasted SO BAD. It had no seasoning, it tasted stale, soggy, made me want to throw up.
Then at the side was pasta which was not even seasoned and it also tasted stale. The whole meal tasted as if it was made DAYS IN ADVANCED and WARMED UP. After craving some of my cultural food I was severely disappointed and upset with the meal. The beef patty was hard and did not even taste good. I had to throw out the entire meal because it made me want to vomit.
I never write reviews this is my first time because of how bad the food was. If I could give 0 stars I would. I wasted my money and I wish I could get a refund. I ordered off Uber eats and the food was horrible. I read the reviews in advance and decided to give it a try because I was craving jerk. I don't want to order from this place again. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE. The food...
