Sunrise Caribbean — Restaurant in Toronto

If I could give negative stars I would. I gave this location the benefit of the doubt cause I have eaten at sunrise before and the food was actually decent! Especially breakfast! But, I was so turned off I threw it away……As shown in the picture this is what I was served …peanut porridge was just ok being that I love porridge it could have been way better if it was hot, not lumpy and had more sugar….now the festival….. I don’t understand how the woman had the heart to even sell that to someone hard like a rock as you can see black on one side and light on the other, ackee and salt fish was just straight up oily .. and they have the nerve to have a sign saying no refunds on food if you don’t like it or whatever it says. They have a whole pigeon flying in the dinning area and flew directly to the back area, tables are dirty, floor is dirty .. list goes on.. Honestly just don’t waste your money. They need to shut this place down .. these people just want your money and not providing the correct service, and no sort of health food safety can be seen in this restaurant especially as customers consuming their food being a black owned business they need to do better..100...

There’s this kind Nigerian lady that, at some point, started working here in the Jane and Wilson location, and just makes this place worth coming to. I first met her about a year or two ago and she’s still there and I told here I just hope she stays because she’s a nice lady (and that they pay her well). The food was good but I feel as though it got better with her there. I’m going to ask her name the next time I see her so that I can update this review.

Usually, Sunrise Caribbean hires people with unnecessarily hostile and rude attitudes, like they hate the job but it pays them to make ends meet. She’s one of the kinder ones. The overwhelming negative reviews this company receives at its locations is typically because of the quality of service the customers receives.

Apart from that, I’ve noticed prices have definitely gotten hire and the coleslaw is…different. It was better the way it used to be. Also the large and small sizes are virtually the same, with the difference being that you get some coleslaw for the large size.

Anyways, this 5 star review is in honour of the Nigerian lady and the quality food I receive when...

I've ordered from here and mainly from uber eats app. It's like 10-15 minutes from me. It always takes over an hour to get my order. Sometimes the uber eats deliverer gets there and have to wait an additional 15-20 minutes. When they show up, it's supposed to be handed and drop off. Then with them waiting, it's sometimes switches to a new deliverer. They have other places to go too. So for the food, the only thing I think is decent is stew chicken. But any other chicken dish is usually undercooked and pink. I ordered a chicken roti, so excited, but what I got was 60% pink when I opened it up. I was feeding my toddler. We both got sick from eating the 1/4 amount we ate before noticing it.

I'm not one to talk bad about businesses, but some places we have to be honest about what we are served. This place is dirty a lot and it is always late...
