Sunset Grill — Restaurant in Toronto

This has become my fav Sunset Grill in the city. They are notably friendly, polite and consistent. All the servers are very friendly and polite no matter how busy the restsurant is. They function as a team and its a pleasure to visit this location.

The menu is the same as other Sunset Gills but the cooks at this location are just better. Eggs "over medium" means soft yolks, not runny yolks - there's a difference. It bugs me to no end when I order eggs over medium and they come with snotty undercooked egg whites...I send them back. An egg place should be able to get that right. This Sunset Grill location gets that right ALL THE TIME.

Their omlettes always come fluffy with just the right amount of colour on the outside. The ingredients are also nicely sauteed before the eggs are added...ever have a raw onion in an omlette? Its not good. That has never happened to me here, thank goodness.

The homefry game is strong too. Always nicely carmelized on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The pieces are just the right size too - about 3/4" dice and perfectly seasoned...not too salty like other locations.

They excel at keeping an eye out for coffee refills - they are simply the best. And the coffee is the right strength...

My Significant other has never tried Sunset Grill before and I have told him that I have been to one but not this location. I ordered a fruit Waffle with Peameal Bacon and Coffee on the side and my significant other Ordered Chocolate Pancakes with Peameal Bacon, Scrambled Eggs and Orange Juice on the side. As we entered the restaurant we were greeted by a very nice and kind hostess. Our waitress did not seem too pleased in serving us... It suddenly went from Room Temperatured to Fall weather within 20min of us being seated. We waited 10 more minutes for our food to come. When our food finally arrived I was extremely disappointed and embarassed. My waffle and Peameal Bacon was very cool, and my significant other's pancakes, Peameal Bacon and Eggs were cool as well. Absolutely no steam coming off of our foods at all! The only thing that was hot was the coffee that I got. I'm hoping that the next Sunset Grill I take my significant other to or anyone to will have some comment sense to keep hot food hot. Unfortunately this Sunset Grill location did not meet their highest standards and quality of a restaurant and we will not be returning to...

I’ve always enjoyed eating at sunset grill - generally a great experience. Pleasant staff etc…I Decided to give this ‘new location’ a try with the family. Came for brunch - it was packed. Took about over 10 minutes to get seated and then we waited. It took over 10 minutes to have the waitress take our drinks order and then we waited yet again…it took over 15 minutes for our food to arrive (needless to say the portions were small) TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. I counted 2 waitresses handling ALL THE TABLES. I counted another 2-3 cleaning/seating; another 2 behind the register and then 4 in the kitchen. If you are going to run a breakfast/brunch operation, get your set up right - it’s unfair to have 2 waitresses handle the entire establishment and customer service was just not there. Probably won’t be coming back to this location….

I’ve been in the restaurant industry for over 10 years. If I know we’ll be busy, I add additional staff so it doesn’t compromise the service I provide to my...
