I recently moved into the neighbourhood and although this place is usually quiet I really wanted to try their sushi, beautiful restaurant seemingly kind staff so I ordered a salmon lover combo but I expressed I didn’t want avocado or mayo on it, I wanted a simple salmon maki or a salmon roll with nothing else on it. She said ok, and went ahead and charged me 1.00 extra without informing me about it. I hadn’t noticed until after I paid, had I realized it would be extra I would have just ordered something else. I was not refunded. I’ve eaten at many restaurants all over the city who have had spectacular service and I’ve never been charged for wanting LESS on my salmon roll. I think this is a learning experience for this restaurant as this unpleasant experience will unfortunately shape my opinion of this store forever. I will not return, I will advise my friends and family to avoid this place. A little compassion goes a long way at the end of the day. Suffice to say I now understand why this store barely has any customers. Also, while I was writing this review she gave me my order and handed me a free Coca Cola saying “this is on us” again, no communication, I don’t drink coke, it makes my teeth feel strange. I haven’t had a coke since I was a teenager. I would ask to switch it for something I do like but I feel that would be rude so I left with the Coke hoping to give it to someone else I know who will enjoy it. I would have preferred my loonie back instead of this useless drink. Please work on your customer service and communication to retain customers in the future. Your restaurant is beautiful.

Edit; when I got home I realized they left out the miso soup and the salad that is supposed to come with the 18 dollar meal that I was charged 19 dollars for. At this point this place is a complete waste of time, you’ll find better service literally...

The staff scheduled tonight was unprofessional. As soon as my friend and I stepped into the store, there was a slight odor. The floor close to the entrance was sticky and it seems like the staff didn't care to even mop it. The table closest to the entrance was left uncleaned. When we got our food, one of the servers was chewing gum as she set the food down. My friend ordered a side of tempura. The server asked again to be sure. However, the dish was already on her hand, ready to be set down. A couple of minutes later, food arrived for the staff. I understand that they have to eat and it wasn't that busy. However, it is really unprofessional that all of their staff that night sat down, prepared their plates, and ate as if they were the customers. Our server didn't bother to entertain us after they were eating their food. It may seem that I feel like I am entitled, but I work in the industry and I know that this is unprofessional.

We've been to this restaurant a few days before and the server we had showed excellent service. I don't know what happened with their service standards...

Absolutely awesome experience at this sushi store! From the moment I walked in, the vibe was just awesome. The staff? Super friendly and gave off this totally awesome energy. I ordered a few rolls and, wow, every bite was more awesome than the last. The fish was incredibly fresh — like, ridiculously awesome. The presentation? Beyond awesome — like sushi artwork. Even the wasabi had this awesome kick that made everything pop. The spicy tuna roll? Awesome. Dragon roll? Ultra awesome. Even the miso soup was on another level of awesome.

Clean place, fast service, and just an overall awesome spot to get your sushi fix. I’ve been to a lot of sushi places, but this one? Hands-down the most awesome of them all. Already planning my next visit because one round of this awesome-ness just isn’t enough.

If you're even thinking about sushi, do yourself an awesome favor and check this place out. Seriously, it's awesome...

Kibo Sushi is an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, the inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home. The decor is modern yet cozy, making it a great spot for both casual dinners and special occasions. The menu boasts an impressive selection of sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes. I tried the Kibo Signature Roll and the Yellowtail Sashimi, and both were phenomenal. The fish was incredibly fresh, and the flavors were well-balanced, showcasing the chef's skill. Presentation was top-notch; each dish was artfully arranged, making it almost too pretty to eat! The service was also commendable. Our server was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent recommendations. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food and the overall experience. Kibo Sushi is definitely a must-visit for sushi enthusiasts. I can’t wait to come back and try

This Kibo is “mid” and they shorted me a piece of sushi 😫. All of the other Kibos are so much better. For example. Service was slow at lunch with only two done in parties. I asked not to have the squid and substitute piece of fish instead so they just shorted me a piece of sushi! Why does Eglinton not add sesame or poppy seeds or decorate their sushi? Service is hot but mostly miss. The focus here seems take out, not dine in. So service is slow. Not a lot of seating here nor is it decorated like other locations. Fish is fresh, price is fair. Although why no lunch special? Why is Eglinton menu smaller and more limited than other Kibos? The more I think about it there are much better Midtown sushi options.
