Tahini's — Restaurant in Toronto

Wanted to try this place out based on the 4.9 stars rating but was completely disappointed due to a couple of reasons: 1) there was only 1 person working 2) the kiosk we ordered from was not user friendly - we ended up getting an extra order of rice on top of the rice that was already included with the shawarma bowl because the options/wording was confusing. You also could not modify your order after you were on the checkout page. 3) we ordered a shawarma bowl, chicken shawarma wrap with authentic toppings except pickles and turnips, and a regular messy fries. All 3 were supposed to be medium hot but they were all mild. The chicken in the bowl, wrap and fries was stale. The wrap of the chicken shawarma was also too chewy.

This place had so much potential but perhaps only having 1 person working compromised the quality...

DO NOT EAT HERE. I GOT BAD FOOD POISONING.

For starters, the shawarma they serve you is tiny, it should be twice as big for the price you pay. For my first bite I got a mouthful of tahini, and it tasted a little weird (oh the irony). Since I hadn't eaten here before, I kept eating, and was ultimately disappointed by the flavour and portion size. Fast forward to a day later and I began dealing with bad food poisoning that lasted 5 days. As someone who has had top quality shawarma before, this was nowhere close (even if I didn't get food poisoning).

Its a miracle this place is so highly rated; maybe the people who have eaten here haven't actually had good shawarma before, or the company had a promotion promising free shawarma for a good...

I’m a retired chef… I ate other shawarma such as Osmos, etc and they ALL upset my stomach after (we all know what that means) I gave Tahini’s a try, Chicken shawarma wrap and with the freshly made to order Saj bread I was impressed off the hop. The finished product was AMAZING for my taste buds and my stomach. Sat very comfortable with good energy from the chicken. I've since tried their Brisket and believe the portion of beef is too small. Coming from the industry, I understand the costs of things… although its very good as well, I stick to the chicken wrap. Its absolutely amazing for 13$ I’m there at 2-4 times a week. Sometimes more. The convenience of their 3AM close DAILY has got me in several times late night...
