Popped in this place after passing by in Koreatown. Pretty close to the restaurants and other affairs in the area. Walked by and it looks to be a pub with one of those Garage Door openings and then a nice medium-ish size for seating which would be good for a full party of 20. As you walk in you are greeted with the Bar on the left with mainly most of the seating on the left. On the walls you are greeted with some old photos of Toronto with a beer can map of the different breweries in the province.
Got seated pretty easily on a Monday I was here. Also was the day 2nd day after New Years. They were playing the World Juniors games on the couple screens they had with the projector. Service wasn’t bad with the two waiters. Didn’t take too long to get orders in for beers and some fries.
Their beer selection is pretty good (30ish beers) from the beers being from craft brewers in the province with rotating beers on tap. Grabbed a beer (Wellington Imperial Stout to be exact) from the place. Quite a good beer very full bodied with a decent ABV. You can taste those lovely flavors Dark Chocolate with a hint of Coffee. Do think it’s a good beer to sit down and then enjoy for a bit of time.
Overall. Decent sized bar with a good selection and not a bad place to watch sports games. Pretty casual with a ~$7 price for beers and about $$ stars for food price. Credit cards are usually...
Read moreVisited for a bit of take out, ordered myself a koreatown with fries.
Over presentation looks great in the box. Closer inspection, I can see the burger to be lopsided. The sauce was leaking out on the fries, so now I have packs of ketchup for the next place I order out. The burger, once I straightened all it's guts, tasted really good. The kim chi didn't dominate the taste, the sauce was creamy which negated a bit of the spice, have a hint of the seasoned patty though it was a decent sized patty. Fries were crispy and the bits pre-seasoned from the burger sauce was great, something close to a light cajun sauce.
Was hoping to get a chill can of coke but opted in for a White Claw as I was notified the coke was on the warm side. The mango seltzer was okay.
Would like to return and try other burgers as long as it doesn't look like the inside of a McDonald's...
Read moreI was told about TALLBOYS through a friend of mine, who had heard about it through some sports commentators that he follows semi-religiously. After hearing all of the hype that was being built up around this place, we decided to check it out and we were not disappointed.
TALLBOYS is THE place to go to try out new, 100% Ontario Craft Brews. The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, and knew a lot about the large selection that they offered. To top it all off, the food was also excellent, and came in a timely manner.
The only downside to TALLBOYS is that it is a little small; I was honestly expecting it to be a bit bigger, but all-in-all, the experience at this Craft Beer House was superb, and a place I'll definitely be recommending...
