I don't think I have faced such ridiculous, rude, and racist customer service and behaviour in the longest while.
My cheque with them was delayed weeks and when we visited their Bayview Village location to pick it up, a customer was declined consignment for her items; they had already told her they will not consign those specific items and she had packed it up; as I was passing by I saw one of her items in her possession, I told her that is very cute and she said "yes but they don't want it", I told her that is unfortunate and I would love to see it; she got very excited and handed it over I told her I will take it from her if they are not accepting it; as soon as I said that the people working there and the owner jumped in very rudely and said no that's not possible; I asked them why? you declined her didn't you? they came at me with an extremely rude attitude "don't make deals here" " this is why we need an office" and as soon as they saw my interest in the item they told her ok we will take it; at least I hope they did; to be nice and polite I told them : ok let her consign it with you and I will buy it through you; the attitude did not get better it got more rude; they themselves were even conflicted one said "make the deal outside", the other came back and said "no stay here". Poor customer, me, and my sister were so confused that I decided to calmly smile say thank you and leave the store.
They lost customers including myself, my sister, all my friends and family members who I had introduced to them and they made the other customer not sell her item when they didn't even want it in the first place. They also provided false price recommendation to her for her item to give me as a price which made me laugh as I am a collector and have been collecting similar items for years and know the price very well.
I have never written a negative review but the attitude, rudeness, and the way they created a scene was beyond embarrassing and...
Read moreI just had my first experience with Second Nature Boutique, and if you’re looking for a local, midtown consignment shoppe with professional management, beautiful visual merchandising and a seamless experience — this spot is for you.
I purchased a pair of designer wellies (rainboots) from SNB but had never consigned. My experience as a shopper was top notch. The wellies were essentially new, priced fairly, and have lasted years, remaining a staple in my capsule wardrobe.
Today I telephoned on a whim, as I’d had an organizer to my home the day prior, and impulsively decided I’d try my hand at consigning some items. Jenna, manager, was generous with her time on the phone, detailing what items were doing exceptionally well (ie: sunglasses, which I hadn’t even thought of), and I felt that she did a wonderful job in managing expectations. I knew what to bring in, which was efficient for us both.
Although they ordinarily don’t take appointments on Saturdays, she invited me in! I arrived at 4:30pm, with a 5pm closing time. She was caring, kind, and detailed in her review of the items, and I didn’t feel rushed at all.
In the end, she selected three items of about fifteen. Her choices indicate that she is knowledgable in regenerative fashion and sustainable fashion, as she chose a highly branded top that other consignments hadn’t heard of.
I’m glad I’ve set up an account and look forward to being part of the SNB community as both a purchaser and consigner. Positive experience through and through.

Read moreI listed a few items with this company.. the consignment price is very high, they practically own half your item. But it’s been FIVE months since I asked THREE times for them to give me back my Tiffany and Co. necklace….. I’ve talked to numerous people and they assured me that my necklace would be transferred from the Bayview Village to Mount Pleasant location. I still have not received a phone call telling me to pick up my necklace. This business is so unprofessional. They don’t keep to their word. It’s a joke, they also have an expired business license! It’s on the wall as you walk in to Mount Pleasant location. I don’t know what else to do but write a terrible review. If you see this Second Hand Boutique, call me!
Update: the manager admitted to taking it off the floor but then spitefully putting it back on … apparently sold my expensive Tiffany necklace and tried to give me a cheque for $100…....
