It was a peaceful place to rest for years and years :( Below is my research about Mount Pleasant Cemetery: Mount Pleasant Cemetery is a historic cemetery located in the heart of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Established in 1876, the cemetery covers over 200 acres and is the final resting place for over 160,000 individuals, including many notable figures from Canadian history. The cemetery is known for its stunning grounds, which feature rolling hills, mature trees, and well-manicured lawns. The cemetery also features a number of historic monuments and memorials, including the graves of several Canadian prime ministers, artists, and military heroes. Mount Pleasant Cemetery is also a popular destination for nature lovers, as it is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including birds, rabbits, squirrels, and even deer. The cemetery also features several walking paths and well-maintained roads, which offer visitors the opportunity to explore its beautiful grounds and experience its peaceful and serene atmosphere. In addition to its natural beauty and historical significance, Mount Pleasant Cemetery also offers a number of unique and interesting tours, including guided tours of its historic monuments, grave site tours, and themed tours on topics such as the history of Canadian war heroes and the lives of notable Canadian figures. Overall, Mount Pleasant Cemetery is a truly special and unique place that offers something for everyone. Whether you're interested in history, nature, or simply looking for a peaceful escape from the city, Mount Pleasant Cemetery is the perfect destination. So, if you're in Toronto, be sure to visit this historic cemetery and experience its beauty and significance for yourself!

Who knew dying could be so exclusive? Mount Pleasant Cemetery: Where the rich and (somewhat) famous go to rest in peace...🪦 hopefully. It's like a VIP lounge, but underground, beneath a heap of dust and dirt. You've got your Hollywood A-listers (well, Canadian A-listers), your political bigwigs, and even a few business tycoons who probably still haven't stopped working. Think of it as an international airport lounge, but for the eternally grounded. People from all walks of life, united by one unavoidable destination. The grounds are immaculate, perfect for a leisurely stroll. Don’t be surprised if you hear a faint whisper of "Conscription if necessary, but not necessarily conscription." or "If somebody’s gonna stab me in the back, I wanna be there.” And if you see a ghost, don't panic. They're probably just practicing their golf swing or reviewing their latest business deal. Just imagine, you could be the next neighbor of a Canadian icon! No ghostly encounters yet, but hey, maybe they're just shy. Or busy planning their next board meeting or hunting...souls 😈 ? If you're looking for a serene and prestigious final resting place, Mount Pleasant is the place to be. Just remember, the earlier you reserve your plot, the better the view of the city skyline. And hey, you'll get a 99-year lease! Space is limited, so don't wait until it's too late...or rather, too early.

this place is huge! a beautiful cemetery that feels like a park (and is a very popular place to stroll, jog, or ride a bicycle). The most impressive are mausoleums of Toronto prominent families like Eaton and Massey. The cemetery is divided by Mount Pleasant Road, however there is an underpass connection that allows walking between two parts without necessity of crossing the busy thoroughfare. Watch out for the traffic - some cars drive quite fast (so do cyclists in warmer months). The place can get busy during the workdays (maintenance) but it's quiet in the evenings and on weekends. Despite numerous maps and marked roads, one can get lost there, it is so vast. one of the entrances leads to the Moore Park Ravine, another connects with Kay Gardner Beltline Trail, so there are many opportunities for extended walks. The cemetery is in a great shape and very well maintained, it is a true pleasure to visit, and take a break from the busy streets surrounding the place.

Beautiful cemetery, I come here often to visit my grandmother. Although, today when I came to visit her, I parked right off the road path with two wheels on the grass, there was NO headstones near by. Most times I bring my small dog with me which I did today because my grandmother loved him so much… and as we are walking back to the car, the Indian security pulls up behind me saying I’m parked on a gravestone and that my dog (who is 13 and can barely walk) was off leash… I’ve been to this cemetery many times and almost all visitors I see have their dog off leash! I would never in a million years disrespect the dead by rolling my car on top of a gravestone. He was EXTREMELY rude with me and proceeded to write me a fake ticket and deny the fact that my grandmother is not buried here. I usually always leave this place with a peace of mind but today this guy completely ruined my day. To the managers of the cemetery, I suggest looking into this security officer, he obviously takes his personal life issues out on visitors who have done nothing wrong. There was absolutely no reason for him to...
