We came for dinner to support a friend who just lost a family member. The waiter was the worst I have ever experienced at the keg. I know the motto is “turn and burn” but seriously?
I arrived at 6:10 PM and my reservation was for 6:15 PM and the rest of my party had already arrived and he had brought them appetizers and as I sat down, he was pushing dinner.
I have had this type of unprofessionalism from the keg many many times where they just rush, rush, rush, to get you to eat and get you to pay. This young man, Philip was the worst I have ever had in my life.
I told him we were here to dine and not to rush us.
Dinner arrived very promptly and two of us were still eating and he came and removed the other three plates and promptly came with dessert, menus while my friend and I were still finishing our main course.
I told him to stop.
It’s bad enough wait staff remove all the plates before every member of the party is finished eating, which anyone with a class knows you do not remove the plates until the last person is finished eating. But class has gone out the window and instead we have intrusive staff who ask you how “everything is tasting” in the middle of your first bite interrupting conversation.
I wish restaurants, and the keg is of no exception, would preface their service saying if there’s anything you need, please let me know I’ll be watching, instead of interrupting, and being so intrusive! We did not come to the keg to have it all about the waitq staff.
As soon as he brought the coffees and realized we didn’t want dessert, he said, do you mind paying your bill now, you can stay as long as you like. Translation, give me your money, and I’m out of here.
No more coffee, no more water, no more interaction.
The keg really needs to train their staff better. It is expensive to go out to eat, and nothing ruins the experience like unclassy wait staff. But this comes from the top down and poor training as this behavior at the keg has been consistent for years and is so annoying.
Some people want to have their plates removed as they feel staff is being attentive, removing the clutter, but the cost is having the stragglers feel rushed. The wait staff in a good restaurant, should be polite, timely and discreet. I’m not there to make a friend, I am there with friends and family.
I need you to be attentive, and should I need something you should be available. Otherwise, you should be quiet in the background and silently refilling water glasses without interrupting. Waiting for a pause in conversation to say, can I get you more wine?
I know the Keg not fine dining, however, it is expensive and people go to celebrate and gather.
My husband and I used to use the keg as a fast food restaurant as we know we could be having a nice steak dinner in 30 minutes and take the kids to a movie . That’s how fast the keg can be.
Sometimes that’s wanted and sometimes you just want to relax and enjoy your friends.
I think a properly trained weight staff could be a little bit more empathetic to...

Dining at The Keg is always a special experience, but this visit was truly exceptional. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality. The ambiance was just right—dim lighting, cozy seating, and a lively yet comfortable atmosphere. It set the stage for what turned out to be an unforgettable meal.
Service That Goes Above and Beyond
The service at The Keg was impeccable from start to finish. Our server was attentive without being overbearing, making sure our drinks were always topped up and checking in at just the right moments. They were knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations and making sure we had everything we needed. It’s rare to find a place where you feel genuinely cared for as a guest, but The Keg excels at making diners feel special.
The Food: Simply Outstanding
Now, let’s talk about the real highlight—the food. Every dish we ordered was prepared to perfection. We started with the baked garlic shrimp, which came sizzling in a rich garlic butter sauce, perfectly complemented by warm bread for dipping. It was the kind of appetizer that leaves you eager for the next course.
For the main course, we went with their signature prime rib and a classic New York striploin. The prime rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender, cooked exactly to our preference, and served with their signature horseradish that added just the right amount of zing. The striploin was equally impressive—juicy, flavorful, and seared to perfection. Both steaks came with sides that were just as delicious: the garlic mashed potatoes were creamy and buttery, and the twice-baked potato was a perfect combination of crispy and cheesy.
We also ordered the lobster tail as an add-on, and it was worth every penny. Cooked to perfection, it was sweet, tender, and paired beautifully with the drawn butter.
Dessert to Remember
Even though we were full, we couldn’t resist trying Billy Miner Pie—a legendary dessert at The Keg. This mocha ice cream pie with a chocolate crust and caramel drizzle was the perfect way to end the night. It was light yet indulgent, the kind of dessert that leaves you wanting just one more bite.
Final Thoughts
Overall, our experience at The Keg was flawless. From the service to the food, everything was top-notch. It’s rare to find a restaurant that consistently delivers such high quality, but The Keg never disappoints. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a great meal, it’s the perfect place to indulge in a fantastic dining experience. We’ll...
Read moreI came here for my mother's birthday on a Wednesday night. I had booked a reservation for 7pm and we waited a few minutes to be seated. Our server was lively and informed us of the recommendations and specials.
🥬 Keg Caesar: 10/10 Classic caesar salad with large shavings of parmesan cheese. Can't go wrong.
🦑 Calamari: 8/10 Surprised that the calamari included breaded jalepenos and peppers mixed in. It came with two sauces, one aioli and another sauce which I could not identify but both were equally tasty.
🧅 French onion soup: 10/10 Came out piping hot. Deep beefy flavour with caramelized onions. I really enjoyed the pieces of bread soaked in the soup. Topped off with a healthy amount of cheese.
🐟 Tuna tartare: 8/10 The presentation of the dish was very aesthetic. The tuna sat on top of a medallion of avocado. The wonton chips were nice and crispy. I was expecting the fish to be cool but it came out a bit warm, which threw me off a little, but was delicious nonetheless.
🥩 10oz Prime Rib with twice-baked potato and frizzled onions: 11/10 Prime rib was cooked perfectly medium rare. The au jus was delicious amd had hints of peppercorn. The potato could have had more butter in it. The onions were crispy and delicious eaten with the beef. Must try this if you haven't before.
🥩 12oz New York Striploin with mushroom rice and seasonal vegetables: 9/10 Steak was cooked medium rare. Might order it rare next time as it cooks a bit more as it cools down. Beef was seasoned well. The mushroom rice and vegetables are a great pairing for the steak if you feel like eating "clean".
🥩 8oz Sirloin Oscar with fries and seasonal vegetables: 10/10 My mother ordered this and she absolutely loved the oscar sauce. She hasn't eaten steak in a very long time and she devoured every last bite of this one.
🍰 Billy Miner Pie: 10/10 The Keg classic dessert. Love the shaved almonds with the chocolate sauce and ice cream. The restaurant was nice enough to put it on the house for my mother's birthday.
🍮 Mini Creme Brulée: 10/10 Can't really mess up creme brulée. Would recommend getting the regular size for a couple more dollars, but the pie had us stuffed.
Overall, we enjoyed the food and had a great time for my mother's birthday. Thank you to the Keg for making it a night to...
