Beautifully smart decor and some interesting pastries from AUZ. Had been meaning to try the LAMINGTON CAKE ($4....but I think I received a discount because I bought other goods ...and the end of the day....). The cake was actually made famous in Queensland by LADY LAMINGTON at her social afternoon teas ....and NOT the Governor as is usually stated!!!). Mild flavours of the sponge cake, chocolate and coconut .....tasting like a light macaroon. The VEGEMITE AND CHEESE "DANISH" is a savoury flavour and an acquired taste if you are not a fan of Australian Vegemite. It has a very "earthy" flavour (WHICH I LIKE ) and the cheese is a very old almost burnt flavour which definitely complements the Vegemite. I also bought an "End of the Day Bakery Box" ($6) which had a large butter criossant and an aged cheddar croissant. A bit "end of the day"....but great the next morning split open, buttered and microwaved about ten seconds to revive them to their...

You are here because you moved from Australia and are used to ridiculously good coffee! Now you miss it so much you find yourself down a google rabbit hole with your search to only end with this literal last hope to put your elite taste for coffee to peace OR you just love great coffee! And by that I don’t mean flavoured swills or concentrates — legit great coffee, perfectly ground and coarse right to your choice of cup of joe (I could honestly just go on here) Lesia is a gem! A darl, honestly! Our interaction was so limited but she has a radiating aura about her that only adds to the charm of everything The Sydney Grind has to offer! Defs try their hazelnut flavoured lattes and other specialities and don’t leave without grabbing an Anazac biscuit for...

Pros: I don't think I've had anything that hasn't been delicious - from treats to drinks to food. They also have the most selection of milks of any cafe I've been to (including oat and macadamia milk!). Anything Aussie inspired I've tried here has been pretty spot on to what I tasted in Australia. Brings back good memories!

Cons: A bit pricey even when compared to good cafes in the area (Sanremo, Jimmy's Coffee). The staff aren't bad but they aren't overly great or friendly either. They're pleasant enough to greet you and take your order without issues, but don't interact with you beyond that (which maybe is a pro for people in a hurry but for me makes it slightly less warm and welcoming).

Over all would...

Had an amazing experience here! Came in for the grand reopening and right when you walk in you are greeted by the new owner and baristas which was great as everyone was super friendly. A great place to catch up with friends over a latte or just get some work done. I ordered a Matcha Latte and it was made so well, by far one of the best matcha lattes I have tried. They have a variety of milk alternatives for every dietary restriction which is appreciated as it can be hard to find milk alternatives at coffee shops. You can tell they care about their customers and use high quality ingredients for their drinks and baked goods. The service was amazing. Definitely a must try! It’s my new favourite spot!
