This place was absolutely wonderful.

Food: I got a really good mushroom burger while my cousin got a breakfast burrito. Both were heavenly.

Although they don't normally do take-out for their oysters, they found a good container, so I could bring them home for my fiancé. She was sick, but these oysters lifted her spirits tenfold!

Service: Alexa and Erin were super friendly and helpful! I forgot which was the bartender and which was the server as i went back in May and am only getting to the review now, but the bartender kept an eye on my bike (I forgot the keys to my lock) which she really didn't need to do. But yes. Wonderful service.

Atmosphere: My cousin and I sat out back on the patio and man is that place pretty! When I went back with my fiancé a week later, it was evening and the dining room had a serious romantic vibe.

I do have 2 things I didn't like, but they weren't big enough for me to remove a star.

  1. I wish they had all you can drink soda. Yes, I am still apparently a child who needs a lot of sugar, lol.

  2. I wish they did takeout for soups on the regular. Their soup is so good and it really helped my fiancé when she was sick.

Other than that, all...

I was very excited to try the mac and cheese from my sister's recommendation. I subbed the regular salad for Caesar salad which I was super happy about bc the salad was so good.... I could've just had a whole bowl of it. The chicken was also SO CRISPY???? It was amazing. I'd only say that the mac and cheese itself was kind of bland. My friend got the mussels (I forgot which broth) but I noticed it smelled really briny and fishy and the broth was really sour. I wasn't a fan of it but since they rotate the broth flavours maybe you'll find one that you like. I wasn't a big fan either of the restaurant ambience. It was so dark and noisy (you can hear everyone's conversations lol..) and not a good place if you just wanna eat in peace. We wanted to sit on the back patio bc it would've been quieter and breezier but it was full so we had to sit inside. Maybe if we went earlier, like for lunch or an early dinner, it would've been fine but since we went around 10pm it was...

The Three Speed has all the foundational elements of a great restaurant, including delicious food, but fell short in a few areas that soured our experience. The restaurant was very dark, preventing me from seeing what my food looked like. The music was a touch too loud, and I had a hard time hearing my friends. This issue was compounded by how close our table was to the surrounding tables - I was sitting closer to another group's table than my own. Also, the staff were not particularly personable or attentive.

If they turned the lights up slightly, turned the music down slightly, and removed a table or two, this restaurant would have been excellent. The jambalaya, hummus, and chicken/mac & cheese were all very well received by our group, and the decor of the restaurant is eclectic and charming. Not somewhere I'd recommend in it's current state, but definitely has...

Took a bit of a gamble on this food, as the menu isn't very descriptive. I got the "Salmon salad" which was served on a bed of spinach and greens, with coleslaw, green apple and a creamy white dressing. Had a definite vinegar taste to it, but very enjoyable. Second was the cesar salad with chicken, the salad was romaine and kale, with crispy breaded chicken (breading heavy), with croutons and a medium amount of dressing. Atmosphere was on the louder side, has a sort of hipster/country vibe. Also very dark. Didn't expect it to be 90% full on a Tuesday night! But the food was about a 25 min wait so not bad!

We stumbled across this packed restaurant on a cold Sunday evening in Bloorcourt and it blew us away. The drinks were delicious, the food was fantastic (and great value), and the atmosphere was extremely cozy and inviting. Our server checked in frequently but was easy going. They seemed to have a very laid back style of service and dining, which was refreshing. Unlike some establishments, I didn’t feel at all like I was being “rushed” out of the restaurant. Come here for intimate conversations with close friends over affordable beers and delicious comfort food.
