🌟 A Heartwarming Celebration at Thindi – Where Flavour Meets Soul 🌟

Stepping into Thindi felt like coming home—a warm, inviting space that instantly wraps you in comfort. The ambiance is simply beautiful: tastefully designed interiors, charming details, and an unmistakable sense of care that sets the tone for a truly special dining experience.

🪑 Vibe & Atmosphere: The space strikes the perfect balance between cozy and modern. It’s elegant without being overdone, with a design that reflects the spirit of Indian street food culture in a refined, welcoming setting.

📜 Menu & Pricing: Thindi offers a thoughtfully curated menu full of Indian street food classics with a fresh twist. Everything is priced reasonably, with generous portions and exceptional quality that make every dish feel like it was made just for you.

🎉 Why Our Visit Was Special This wasn't just another meal out—it was a celebration of freedom and flavour. After 18 years of living with a potato allergy, my husband recently discovered he could eat them again. To mark this milestone, we chose Thindi for his first bite of aloo in nearly two decades. And what did we order? Dabeli, of course.

The moment he took that bite, he smiled and said, “This is the BEST Dabeli I’ve ever eaten in my life.” Naturally, we shared our story with the staff—and to our delight, they were overjoyed and surprised. In a beautiful gesture of generosity, they brought us a Vada Pav on the house to help us celebrate. This level of kindness and warmth is rare and truly unforgettable.

🍽️ What We Ordered & Loved: ✔️ Benne Dosa – Crisp, buttery, nostalgic; instantly took me back to Bengaluru mornings. ✔️ Dabeli – Perfectly spiced, tangy, and sweet. A flavour bomb! ✔️ Filter Coffee – Rich, aromatic, authentic. A comforting sip of South India. ✔️ Paneer Tikka Grill Sandwich – Generously filled, beautifully spiced, and absolutely satisfying. ✔️ Vada Pav – A surprise dish and the hero of the night! Bold flavours that transported us straight to the vibrant streets of Mumbai.

🌟 Why You Should Visit Thindi:

✅️Authentic, mouth-watering Indian flavours ✅️Beautiful ambiance and excellent service ✅️Heartfelt hospitality that makes every visit memorable ✅️Truly worth every single penny

Whether you’re looking to relive childhood street food memories or simply indulge in honest, soul-satisfying Indian food—Thindi is a must-visit.

💬 Pro Tip: Don’t leave without trying the Filter Coffee or Benne Dosa. And if you’re celebrating something special, let the staff know—they go above and beyond to make you feel cared for.

This is a good modern-looking place to enjoy some good Indian treats. The interior vibes is clean and carefully decorated.

We sampled something from each of their menu group items. We ordered the Cheesey Maggi ($9.95), Paneer Bhurji sandwich ($11.95), Dabeli ($8.95), and some cold Phenti [Dalgona] Coffee ($3.45) & Gardamom Chai ($3.45) for drinks.

I would advise sharing your food orders with someone else when dining in. Any of the Maggi noodles can be ordered along with Sandwiches and it can be split between 2 people. This is to avoid having too much to eat of the same dish.

The Cheesey Maggi, something they are known for, is best eaten right away when it is still hot and as the cheese is just melting. While it is really tasty, the taste sensory overload can be overwhelming to consume just for 1 person.

While the place's overall interior vibe is good and is clean. I would have hoped that they regularly keep tabs on the trash bin located inside. They should have emptied all the waste and replaced the lining. It was already filled to the bin with some trash spilling over outside and onto a counter. There was some indoor seating nearby just to the side and it surely is a horrible spot to be in.

Related to the trash situation, it would have been good if they considered more sustainable food serving options for indoor dining. It looks like they just standardize take away & indoor dining options by having both packaged in carton take away containers. Some washable dishwares or reusable cups will have given the business a better environmental footprint and lessened the use of...

If you’re searching for authentic South Indian flavors in Toronto, look no further than Thindi Café. This hidden gem is a paradise for food lovers, especially those craving the perfect dosa and idli.

The dosa at Thindi Café is nothing short of exceptional. Each bite delivers the quintessential crispy texture on the outside and a soft, slightly tangy interior. Whether you go for the classic Masala Dosa or one of their creative variations, the dosas are served fresh and accompanied by chutneys that are bursting with flavor. The sambar here deserves special mention—its perfectly balanced spices and aromatic essence make it the ideal pairing.

As for the idli, it’s a revelation! Soft, fluffy, and steaming hot, these little rice cakes are a testament to Thindi’s commitment to authenticity. Pair them with their coconut chutney or dip them in the sambar for a mouthwatering experience. It’s comfort food at its finest, prepared with care and served with love.

The café’s cozy ambiance and friendly staff specially Bishal and Lobsang only add to the experience. Whether you’re a South Indian cuisine aficionado or a first-timer, Thindi Café will leave you with a full stomach and a happy heart. Highly...
