Tokyo Sushi — Restaurant in Toronto

BEWARE...Used to be good, now they make promises and don't deliver. We placed an order for 7pm pickup last month. They left us in the car for over half an hour while the entire front of the place was filled with screaming clients who were all complaining about the same issue. We gave them a second chance..Today, we called at 5pm to have delivery at 7pm, and they confirmed. We are 5 min away and they arrived just short of an hour late, after repeated calls. We were told they can't contact the driver as they don't pickup calls in the car. One event could be a bad day, but It seems they accept orders that they obviously can't deliver on time. If you can't do it, just say so. No problem-we can go elsewhere. We are done with this restaurant. We will go to another sushi pace in the area that we frequented many times and has always been good...

My young niece likes to go for sushi with me when I have her on a night out. As I have not been impressed with a location she loves on St Clair, I thgouht we would try something by Eglinton and Avenue Road. Found Tokyo Sushi, it was a Saturday evening, we found a table. We placed our order with a young man approximately 19 years old. He brought us some lovely apps to try and I was impressed my niece tried them. A glass noodle with peanut butter and some sort of pancake with shrimp, egg and sweet potato. Probably the best spicy sushi piza i've had in years. The kid even ate mine. All rolls were flavourful. didn't taste like every other roll. The young man is self taught and fluent i Japanese and wants to go to university there next year. Hope he does. hoping to go Saturday again.thank you for a yummy meal and enjoyable...

This was, honestly, some of the worst sushi I've had in a long time. We actually threw some of it out rather than wasting calories on it.

All rolls were subpar, but the spicy tuna took the cake: there was no spice, and there was no tuna! Literally: no tuna. It was just a big fat spicy tempura roll (minus the spice). Pictures attached for those who think I'm exaggerating.

Won't be back.

The restaurant has just responded by suggesting that my review was not honest, that the food was not theirs. This is unacceptable and deeply disturbing.

In response, I am attaching my receipt from the "dinner" we were served. Note the phone number, which matches theirs. I'll assume they won't suggest I falsified this as well.
