Tokyo Sushi — Restaurant in Toronto

I stumbled in side this place as I needed a quick bite before a lengthy event. On a 4 venue radius from where I parked on the street it was the only place open on a Saturday at 1pm, thank you! While the place had only one other table occupied they do orders. In retrospect I feel like I was somewhat of a jerk, I just went to the person behind the counter and asked for the fastest thing he could make me. "sushi rolls?", "Awesome!" "what kind?" "what's fasters, Salmon?" "ok" "ok" and I plopped myself on the seat next to the counter, feeling a bit guilty for the people at the table and me ordering before them, lol. 2min later i was shown 6 salmon rolls in a takeout container "Are these enough?" that just melted my heart as I've seen their size and how they were stuffed with salmon, seeing them up close i was more so impressed, and we are talking about sushi rolls... ate them, thank them profusely and ran away, after paying.

So 5+/5 for hospitality

Also since it is a restaurant, the salmon rolls I got had sesame seeds in them, and as I ate the rolls without ginger, soy or wasabi, made them stand out on their own, and the sesame was not overbearing, it was just right. And price wise, as I checked the menu, there is nothing I can complain about.

So salmon rolls 5/5 would buy and eat again, and again...

Lastly as I was leaving I noticed the cook preparing a large takeout plate, my rolls were no exception, so your money is well spent on what you get.

TL;DR: very nice people; good food worth your money, and it's not a lot...

Without a doubt, the worst food quality I have ever experienced in a "Japanese" restaurant. At lunch today, the tempura was like heavily battered fish & chips - oily and way overcooked -- dark brown. The teriyaki beef and vegetables were served cold and the meat was tough. The sushi included were just some California-type rolls that were awful. The only good part was the white rice served as a side - although even that was bone cold when served. Yikes. Despite the 4.8 rating, I would never return. I give it a zero. ...

We get from here all the time and love it. Great value, great taste. Not the place to go if you're looking for gourmet, 5-star presentation, but that's not what this place is about. Of you're looking for a tasty, fresh, neighbourhood sushi joint, you can't beat this.

The only thing I don't like is that almost all of the reviews they have below mine are FAKE! Not sure the restaurant is responsible for this, but it's a bit disconcerting.

Still...it really is a great neighbourhood...
