Those who knew the old family run Big Slice that formerly lived here will know and miss it ...

Having said that, True History Brewing is a breath of fresh air on an otherwise tired strip of old St Clair. With a beautiful, simply appointed bar/front room and sliding glass garage doors opening onto a shaded patio with new cedar fencing and lots of greenery, it's a lovely spot to have a rest and enjoy and frosty beverage straight from the house tap. Servers are courteous, welcoming, and efficient.

I thoroughly enjoyed a pint of Just a Pils, and I am certain their other pours are equally enjoyable.

My one disappointment lies in the 1-size-fits-all approach to serving sizes. I would have preferred a ½ Pint as I am not always inclined to have a full one every time. Before I even finished asking the bartender if they have ½ Pints, he cut in, blurting out, "no flights" ...

Not being one to make a fuss, I simply ordered the Just a Pils pint ... but it bugged me ... Why NOT a ½ Pint? And flights are great ways to allow customers to get to know your product.

In any case, it's not the end of the world, and I'll be back. I recommend it as a nice, cool stop at a great...

There is only one pub of two nearby I am willing to go if I want a drink or 4 to unwind from busy work stretches. If they’re both closed I go home because nothing beats the craft &care these folks provide in their service every time! They have an amazing (and small) selection of snacks & more filling dishes, always served to consistent satisfaction & perfection. The menu changes seasonally and there is a fridge with seasonally changing options if you just want to stop by for a smile and some cans to bring home. My favorite wheat beer to date exists only on tap here, ‘there’s always money in the banana stand’ comparable to sidelaunch wheat but if sidelaunch wheat were to have birthed baby Jesus in beer form. That’s THB for you, I have been spoiled with their standards. They’re also extremely humble and they treat you like the neighbours you wish were your actual neighbours who live next door. There’s trivia nights on recent Tuesdays...

Not a picky person by any means and I barely leave reviews but I was greatly disappointed by the fact their food menu has none of the items pictured in the reviews, in fact the menu was so small that we left hungry after have 3 beers each (4 people)

No donairs, no sausage, no pretzels, no salmon, no anything shown in the photos of the reviews previous.

They were out of fries.. who runs out of potatoes?

Ordered bread and butter $10- 4 of the tiniest sourdough breads imaginable 1/5 cheese - 2 slices $10 - 4/5 beef carpaccio $17 - very small serving and it did not taste good chicken schnitzel - 2/5 very dry and not tasty with no sides….

No pretzels

Decent service and good beer but menu is below par and would not...

Checked out the new food spot operating within True History Brewing this weekend, Beisl is modern Viennese. The two salads were out of this world a whipped goats cheese and beet + traditional potato with cucumber, seasoning absolutely on point. The homemade aromatic lamb sausages are delicious, unique and incredibly juicy with mustard and horseradish and don’t skip the crispy cheese and pork schnitzel! Perfect elevated comfort food to accompany the great beer list and chilled scenery 10/10 Highly recommend

This fine brewery offers some really nice beers that are brewed fresh on site. Trestle tables encourage patrons to interact with one another as the world flows by on the other side of the large windows looking out onto St. Claire Avenue. On every visit staff have been friendly, warm and welcoming. Although I have yet to try the food the smells wafting from the kitchen are absolutely mouth watering! If you enjoy good beer and good company then this is the place for you. Keep up the great work!
