My husband and I recently had the opportunity to visit your esteemed restaurant, hoping to experience and support Central European cuisine, which we have always enjoyed during our holidays. However, we regret to inform you that our visit left us deeply disappointed due to the attitude displayed by the restaurant owner and certain aspects of our dining experience.
Firstly, I must acknowledge that I accidentally knocked over a plant pot during our visit. I want to emphasize that the pot did not break, and I immediately apologized for the incident. I offered to clean up the mess myself, but to our surprise, the owner's reaction was unwelcoming and she appeared furious. We believe that accidents can happen in any establishment, and a more understanding and reassuring response would have been appreciated.
Secondly, we noticed that the soup we ordered seemed to have passed its expiry date, as evident from the visible foam on its surface. Being a chef myself, I understand the challenges of managing inventory, but I also know the importance of ensuring the quality and freshness of the food served to customers. It was disheartening to witness such negligence in your kitchen, which reflects poorly on the restaurant's commitment to serving high-quality dishes.
Furthermore, we would like to highlight the treatment of one of your young and kind waitresses. Despite the owner's unfriendly demeanor, she tried her best to provide us with attentive service. However, it was evident that she felt embarrassed and uncomfortable in her role. As patrons, we believe that the staff should be treated with respect and appreciation, as they play a crucial role in enhancing the overall dining experience.
Our intention in bringing these issues to your attention is not to cause any distress or inconvenience but rather to express our sincere disappointment with the overall experience at your restaurant. As avid supporters of Central European cuisine, we had expected a warm and inviting atmosphere, along with delightful dishes that would leave us with pleasant memories of our visit.
We hope that you will take our feedback constructively and consider addressing the mentioned concerns to improve the dining experience for future patrons. It is our belief that every restaurant can grow and excel by attentively listening to...
Read moreThe rudest and least kid-friendly restaurant I’ve ever experienced in Toronto.
From the moment we arrived, the experience was disappointing. There was a sign on the door stating “No outside food or drinks allowed — not even water bottles.” Thankfully, my 4-year-old son had forgotten his water bottle at home. However, we had baby food with us for our 11-month-old daughter.
As soon as we walked in, we told the waiter about the baby food. He said he had to ask his mom (who we assume is the owner) and returned saying, “My mom said it’s okay this time, but don’t bring anything next time.”
Honestly, that comment was incredibly inappropriate. Babies can’t eat schnitzel, and expecting a baby to go without appropriate food is simply ridiculous. We should have left immediately, but we were tired, hungry, and in a rush, so we decided to stay.
While I was putting the baby in the high chair, my son gently rocked back and forth on his chair for a few seconds — nothing wild, just normal kid behavior. Suddenly, the waiter snapped, shouting, “This is not a place where your kid can smash the chairs!” His tone and expression were shockingly aggressive, as if something catastrophic had happened.
Anyone with kids knows how challenging it can be to dine out with little ones. Instead of showing a shred of understanding or patience, we were met with hostility. That moment was the final straw. I asked, “Is this the first time a baby or a child has come to your restaurant?” and the response was even ruder.
We didn’t even get to order food or drinks, so I can’t speak to the quality of the meals — and frankly, I don’t care. The way we were treated was enough to ensure we’ll never return. I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant, especially for families with babies or...
Read moreBased on a personal referral and Google reviews I was very eager to try this restaurant for some time. Being from Europe I have tried many European restaurants both in Europe and in North America. I had called previously to make sure of their hours in the past and to be sure that a reservation would not be needed. This is because i went there before during business hours and they were closed. Also because of the extremely limited operating hours available. I have had to wait nearly a year before I was able to go during those hours but last Friday I was able to finally make time and rushed there all the way from Brampton in rush hour and arrived at 6:53. As I stepped in a young woman, who did not greet me in any way, said the kitchen is closed and offered no apology and no take out service. There were people who were obviously just served and the restaurant was supposed to still be open for another 40 minutes. I was shocked, speechless, confused and taken aback by the low level of hospitality skills I had just encountered. If the food is good I wouldn't know it, as this is now the second time coming here during their hours only to be disappointed by them not actually being open. If they want to please and accommodate customers they may consider hiring courteous and professional employees who are trained accordingly and actually want to work. Not to mention honor their own hours. This is the most disappointing restaurant experience I've had...
