WineOnline Wholesale — Restaurant in Toronto

Placed order on Fri Dec 16th for wine to be delivered in Toronto region, before placing the order I called to confirm it would be delivered before Christmas. They confirmed it would be delivered on the following Tues or Wed.

Receiving no updates, I called on the Tuesday and was told it would be delivered no later than Thursday.

No updates provided, I called on the Thursday and was told the wine was not in stock (showed as in stock on website) and would not be delivered until AFTER Christmas on the Tuesday.

No updates provided again, I called Tuesday AFTER Christmas and was told it is still not in stock.

No updates again, I called the Thursday and told it is finally in stock, the place it was being delivered to was closed so I asked them to deliver on Jan 3rd.

Jan 5th, no wine received by the recipients and no update provided by wineonline, I had no choice but to call again, this time I was told it was because the driver was on 'contract'. The wine was finally delivered on...

WineonLine provides a wonderful selection of wine from the out of sight/expensive for me ( but still fascinating to read/dream about such wines - and some can afford them for special events) - to a very good selection of reasonably priced ones. Often they're from viticultural areas one doesn't see advertised extensively at the LCBO e.g. Portuguese wines. The offerings often go quickly....you have to be on your toes for some of these! But the WoL site offers to contact you if further supplies are going to appear; sadly they rarely do.... Wine purchased reaches us astonishingly quickly, and delivery is free for purchases at $100, pretty well all cases of wine come in at over that cost. A case ordered here in Eastern Ontario may be here in two days!

Generally a great service offered by people who are knowledgeable and enthusiastic....

I would have given zero, if I could have. It's a shabby company at best. There seems to be one person running all the business, and from time to time he/she can't make sure to deliver what was promised. I got something other than what I ordered, and told that I should have checked once the driver was taking my signature. Duh, it delivers in a sealed box. Their spirit selection is at it best, a sub-set of LCBO and when they say they have promotions, it is just barely a promotion, you can get it much cheaper in LCBO.

Also, they spam you right and left, for the things you don't even think about. And if you spam their emails, they find a way to send you another email (I don't know how they do it).

I don't know how they stay in business so far. Seems to be so few selection in Ontario that these businesses can thrive.
