Food review: The standard breakfast was okay. There was no salt or pepper on the tables. No offer of hot sauce or anything else. Seems strange. Bacon was way overcooked. Eggs were properly cooked and bread was good.
Yogurt and granola was good enough. Strange to eat raisins in yogurt.
Advice to the restaurant: Acknowledge people when they walk in your front door. Either say hi to them or ask if they are going to eat in or take out. Alternatively, post signs that either say "seat yourself" or "please wait to be seated". Additionally, a sign that says "order here and take a seat" otherwise its assumed that there is table service. Asking for tips is a standard practice for just about every service these days, however, asking for tips and not providing table service while having customers clean up after themselves seems egregious. Either build the tip into the price of the food or at the least clean up the tables. Place salt and pepper on each table.
All in all, its a good place for Bridgewater. It gives the impression it will be fancy, but ends up coming off as mediocre. Small changes would really...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFancy Pants Cafe is a destination stop in Bridgewater. Put it on your list. The atmosphere is a living organism, from the lighting to the decor to the unbelievably pleasant, wonderful staff. FPC take immense pride in their standard of service and how they treat people, and rightfully so; an ongoing lesson for other businesses in making your people your purpose.
The food and drink are carefully curated, consistently prepared, and delicious. As always, you will pay a little more for small-business and quality - but as a multi-visit-per-week customer, I'm confident in saying that you get your money's worth. My personal favorites: cold brew, smokey bacon & smoked cheddar (breakfast sandwich), chocolate crinkle cookie, chocolate pepito.
A+ food and drink; A+ atmosphere and service; Generous "punch card" loyalty program (drinks); Indoor and outdoor seating options including canopied picnic tables; Consistent experience makes every visit pleasant...
