I ordered my simple salad and a simple cheeseburger combo. While I was waiting, I could see food piling up at the end of the table and not going on trays or in bags. They were busy, but not slammed busy. I have worked at McDonald's in the past and have been able to handle exhibition crowds, power outage crowds and school crowds at lunch time, and it is possible to have a smooth running engine with good organizational skills. This time, it was terrible. No one knew who ordered what or when. I watched the girl at the end of the table open several burgers, several times, as she didn't know whose was whose. FIFTEEN minutes have passed and I can see my salad next to a pile of burgers. My husband called out to me, "what is going on?". I told him I didn't know, so I proceeded to the counter and asked if that was apple pecan salad with shredded cheese. The girl said yes, I then told her there should be a single cheeseburger with no tomato and no pickle, and all I needed was fries, (as I had already had my drink). She said yes, but nothing made it to my tray. FIFTEEN minutes later, I finally had all my food put on my tray. I asked if everything was there, she said yes. I asked for my receipt, and was told it got lost in the confusion. I proceeded to my table to sit with a cranky hubby, after waiting for THIRTY minutes. He opened his wrapped burger, as it had been unwrapped several times before and handled. It was a disaster of a burger. I placed my hand on my warm chicken salad that I get all the time, (they are delicious and fresh), and it was ice cold. I snapped the lid on my salad as I was angry with the freshness quality of my food and told hubby that I would deal with my salad at home and just wanted to leave. He said to wait for him as he wanted to eat his combo. He took one bite into his burger and it was under cooked and RAW meat inside. I made him spit it back out and told him I am getting our money back. A couple that we knew came in, I showed them our food and they left to get pizza!!! I proceeded to the counter and told them how much I was displeased with the service, and the quality of food served to us. I have always told everyone about their great salads and hot and fresh food. The dining room could be cleaner most times, so I always wipe off a dirty table when we go. I told the cashier we were leaving and I wanted a full refund, but wait....I don't have a receipt!! I told her that she had to eyeball what was on the tray, figure it out and give me back my money. She couldn't give it back on debit, and had to do cash. So, in the end, I waited THIRTY minutes for terrible food, we left hungry as we ate nothing, and went to a grocery...
Read moreOur family of 5 came in to eat for my son's Birthday (he chose the restaurant) after a movie at the Cineplex, so we probably came in around 8pm and although the atmosphere was great (clean, well lit, lots of space and great tables) the service was slow (we were the only customers in the restaurant) and awkward, and the food was terrible and cold! 🥶 We spent close to $100 for our son's birthday meal and the most memorable part of the experience at Wendy's was the cold burgers 🍔 They seemed to have been precooked (long before we ordered) possibly to speed up the service time but it made absolutely no difference at all with regards to wait time, we still waited for a good 10-15 minutes for our "fast food" (5 burgers, 4 fries and 1 side cesar salad). It would have been completely worth it if the food had at least been enjoyable. We still made the most out of it but I was pretty disappointed! 🤯 My recommendation when eating here would be to order chicken or a customized meal/burger and (a trick that seems to work) no salt on your fries 🍟 This could help to ensure that all the food gets made fresh and has not been sitting around getting cold for god knows how long! You can always add the salt after receiving your order if you want salt on your fries! 😎 That is if you can get past the possibility of food poisoning from food that has not been kept up to proper temperature after cooking to prevent bacteria growth, let alone been made fresh. 🧐 Needless to say, I was not happy with our visit, although the children and my husband were hungry enough that they did not do too much complaining. 🤔 I wasn't able to eat the cold cheese burger but the rest of the family ate their's... 🤢 Perhaps the time (8pm) had something to do with it but regardless, regular closing duties should not affect the quality of the food! I rarely eat here but maybe next time we come here we will try lunchtime instead 🕛 and see how...
Read moreThe cashier was friendly so the star goes to him. The girl at the second window handing us food could barely smirk as she said nothing handing us food. On the drive home, about 25 minutes away, my wife tried eating her dried out chicken burger (chicken and bun dry and stale, she had a tough time chewing it) as well as what I assumed to be hour old fries. The ice tea was refreshing however, as it should be to wash all that down.
Once home, I tried for my four junior cheese deluxe burgers. Again, very dried out buns and much colder patties than they should have been. (I've made this drive plenty of times with fast food usually staying hot). The vegetables were fresh.
Called to complain, or at least let them know of their bun situation. The phone was answered on the third ring by someone who was either very depressed or very hung-over. Asked to speak to the MoD only to realize that that was her that I had on the phone. After informing her of the situation, I received no remorse, but rather a simple "o.k." Staying unenthusiastic to the huge let-down me and the wife incurred, she shruggingly offered to mail us two free coupons for... Not sure, she didn't really clarify. Meals I am guessing?
Gave her my name and address.
She sounded quite young, as were the two at the windows. Kind of wondering if the whole place is run by apathetic high schoolers. In which case, get a frikken adult in there to supervise...
Eitherway, probably going to throw the free meals in the trash or see if they accept them at Harveys. This sucks because I loved Wendys when I lived...
