I would give it 2.5 but it's not an option. If you want a gourmet pizza in Cochrane, I would recommend PZA instead.
The restaraunt itself is a pleasant venue, and the staff seem to perform their basic functions competently.
However, the pizza was surprisingly disappointing, their medium sized larges (and personal sized regulars) being the least of the issues. They have decent quality ingredients and a respectable amount of toppings, but the ratios seem to be off and despite the volume of toppings, it lacks flavour.
Now, you might be thinking. It's special because it's a flatbread pizza fired in an oven. There are two problems. The first, is that their flatbread recipe is not very good flavour wise. We also ordered it as an appetizer, the seasoning and topings were decent, but the flatbread itself was not something I would go out of my way to eat. Which will be a letdown to really big flatbread fans. Second, they haven't seemed to have mastered their oven. Light singeing is one thing it can add some variety in texture and more complex flavours. However, nearly all of the rim crust was burned through to solid charcoal (I can't see you won't be eating it ...unless you like your toast as a black husk). Which won't be a problem if you dislike crusts. But, if the point is the flatbread... you probably want to eat it. Meanwhile, some of the bottom was undercooked. Which suggests the oven was to hot, or that the pizza was too close to the flames. It could have just been that individual chef? That said, a little bit of soft dough and some crust you don't eat is not as substantial of an issue as the surprisingly lackluster flavour (which again, isn't terrible, just below expectations relative to your average take-out).
Also, the food is quite slow, and would be even more so when the restrictions are lifted and it is filled with people (The floor plan looks like it will be overcrowded with seats, plus the patio). Why? It is simply an inherent production bottleneck of their oven. So if you really want to go, make an allowance for time.
In summary, it was decent but, we were all let down and I wouldn't make an effort to go back. Still, with a few minor changes the food could be excellent. At that point, having friendlier staff would really make it 5 star. But for now. if you want higher quality pizza than your average take-out, and a dine-in experience... go to PZA.
*P.S. I am leery of the number of empty 5 star reviews, as it is common practise these days (especially for new businesses) to enlist friends and accquaintences to do...
Read moreWas not the worst food I ever ate but far from anything I'd pay money to eat again. The prices were reasonable. Its a nice atmosphere and the server was pleasant but only asked us how our meal was after I had paid. Time from order to delivery was good. The food was the real letdown and thats unfortunately a deal breaker. The flatbread dough was not at all like before. It was more like the dough you make yourself at home with a Kraft pizza kit. We had olives to start that were the same caliber as the ones in a grocery store olive bar. The Hawaiian style flatbread we ordered had pineapples that were definitely of the canned variety. It was barely warm and the cheese wasn't even melted completely. I'm fairly certain they warm the flatbreads in the back and just make a show of putting them in the fire oven. The dough is definitely not being cooked from raw in there. I ordered hot tea and was given a selection of Walmart Finest Excellence brand varieties to choose from which made it painful when I realized it was $3. I get it this is where profits are made but come on, hide the packaging. Overall a nice concept and restaurant interior but the mediocre and bland food ruined...

Missing toppings, and had to send one back which we try never to do. It came out better, but we won't be back. Love supporting local places, but if the food and experience is lacking, we'll have to find somewhere else. The interim manager was our server and doing his best to make our experience better, hence the 3 stars, but I hope they go back to their old crust and menu.
Old review: Great new restaurant in Cochrane. Had the pasta special and a 12" pizza, both were delicious and a good amount for 2 people, price was decent with 2 drinks at $60. Atmosphere is really nice with the pergola and pizza oven, looks substantially different than the sushi restaurant before it. Server was great too, seems that they are having trouble keeping all the beers/ciders in stock but she let us know when we tried ordering. One odd thing is they don't have parmesan, hopefully they sort that out, but we'll...
