The Canadian Brewhouse (Cochrane) — Restaurant in Town of Cochrane

Very disappointed! We stopped in for a late supper on a Thursday evening at about 8:50 pm. The sign said to seat ourselves so we did, right across from the bar. The place was not busy, about 1/4 full. After waiting 10 minutes I finally went and asked the gal behind the bar for menus. She brought some, took our drink orders and brought the drinks. After an additional 15 minutes with no sign of a server, I managed to catch the eye of a guy behind the bar and asked if we could order food. He took our orders and left to put them in. 5 minutes later, our server arrived and apologized for not coming sooner but she was looking after a large group. She asked to take our orders but they had already been put in. That was the last time we saw her until it was time to pay. The food eventually came out, 40 minutes after we had arrived. When it came time to pay, the server offered to split the bills. There were 4 of us so it should not be complicated. She went through what each person had ordered and then returned with the bills. 1 of the 3 was correct. She then disappeared for another 10 minutes and returned with the correct bills. Our quick bite to eat turned into a long and bad experience. The food was great (when we finally got it). The atmosphere was average for a decent pub. The service was where things fell off the rails. I am glad that we did not have to be somewhere or meeting someone after we ate. I think the server was probably overwhelmed with the large group she was looking after. I am not sure this is a server problem, but rather a manager problem for not identifying when a server may be overwhelmed with a large group and as a result, other patrons are not getting any service. I repeat the the food was great, but because of this experience, it is unlikely that I will be returning. I cannot imagine what would have happened had the place...

Visited the Cochran location with a long time friend that I drove 4 hour to come visit! Decided to take her to lunch at the Canadian Brew house in Cochran, Alberta lunch was good and all was well until the bill come, our waitress slipped it on the table upside down and asked if I need a machine and went to go get it, at this time I didn’t look at the bill as my friend and I were talking so she brought the machine and I chose the tip option and tapped my card! After it printed she set it on the table and left it was when the paper curled up at that point is when I noticed the bill for two of us with a water pop and two meals was $152 and change so I then looked over our bill and realized they had other meals we did not order on the bill and later discovering the table behind us and our table the bill was joined!

NO BIG DEAL RIGHT? They will just do a refund of the difference and we will be on our way!

WRONG!! I flagged down our waitress and told her of what happened and she took the bill and debit slip with her and 15 mins later not her but I assume the manager comes to the table and explains he can not refund me the over charged amount back onto my card but what he can offer is to mail a check and he can take down my info and have a check mailed out, or get the difference in a gift card! Told me it was my only two options . I was not very convinced of him mailing out a check in like 3-6 weeks yeah no thanks and I took the gift card even though I wanted my cash money back!

I don’t get the privilege of eating out when I want, I have to save up and for them to keep the addition $100 in there business of my money and taking it from my pocket shame on you! I am a single mother and that $100 could of been used in so many other ways but to be so greedy and keep MY MONEY in your business yeah not...

Our last and final visit to the CBH was in Cochrane on July 21, 2018 .

Here's our experience...

Server inside restaurant told us to just seat ourselves on the patio and a server would be with us. We waited 20 mins (yes, 20 mins, we timed) before a server finally came by and asked if we'd been helped (ummm, do you see menus or drinks...??) By the way, 2 servers and 7 tables on the patio... So we placed our order... 2 pints of Hoegaarden. Server dropped off 2 pints of beer... I asked my wife if these beers were in fact ours? After taking 3 sips of each beer (server watched as she approached) and she asked us "did you order Shock Top?" We said no (as I'm wiping beer froth off my mouth)... Server grabbed both beers and walked away... DROPPING ONE OF THE BEERS OFF AT ANOTHER TABLE!! UMMM WHAT THE HELL? you just watched me drink out of it.

That was our que to leave. Both servers were nowhere to be found. We walked up to the table and told them we drank out of that beer and he was disgusted. We also heard 2 other tables complaining about the sub par service .

We looked for our server inside the restaurant as we were leaving and it was a ghost town. No employees any where. What a joke. 2 servers couldn't handle 7 tables (mostly couples).

We went to Original Joe's and were promptly greeted and had a cold bevy in hand in less than 5 mins. Great service there as we happily spent our money.

Maybe the Canadian Brewhouse in Cochrane should take notice. Plenty of other places for me and my friends and family to spend our cash and not drink other people's used beers. Disgusting!!!! Never...
