this morning me and my girlfriend really wanted Denny’s and we came into my local Denny’s. right off the start we met the server Lily that we got a little bit of a weird vibe from she asked us what we wanted and we said we didn’t know that’s why we were going to look through the menus and we asked her to give us a couple of minutes, she came up to our table every 30 seconds in a very demeaning tone almost upset at the fact that we did not know what we wanted to order and then I went to the bathroom. she came up to my girlfriend asking did he leave which I didn’t leave I went to the bathroom and when my girlfriend explained to her that he’s gonna be back and we are gonna try and find what we wants to eat together, she rolled her eyes, and under her breath said “oh my God” walking away instantly, that is not acceptable customer service. We’ve asked her to give us a couple of minutes for us to decide what we want to eat and we were annoyed the whole time because she wouldn’t even allow us time to look through the menu thoroughly. at the end she stood at the table in an almost demanding meaner trying to get us to order on the spot when we still haven’t had enough time to look through the menu. so we just ended up getting up and leaving because that was not acceptable whatsoever, This isn’t a fast food place where people come in and know exactly what they want to eat. we just wanted to sit there, and browse with the menus for what we wanted, but we were pressured into ordering, and then basically made fun of for not knowing exactly what we want on the spot! then, at the very end of it all, when we have decided that we’ve had enough when we want to leave it’s almost as if that gave her joy that she’s losing a customer and doesn’t have to serve us. We’re not happy at all with this Denny’s, we’re not happy with the service that we got, and we will definitely not be back and not be recommending this...
Read moreI want to provide a precursor to this review: I have been a consistent patron and advocate of the Denny's establishment over the last few years. My experience has been overwhelmingly satisfactory thus far, however, that drastically changed this morning, November 30, when my friends and I were rudely harressed by our waiter, Lilly. I don't partake in these reviews as a precedent, however, I believe that I would be doing a disservice to Dennys and any future customers of theirs if I didn't make the events that unfolded this morning known to the public.
My experience today - comparable to that of my friends - was unambiguously the most unpleasant restaurant experience of my life. Our waitress, Lily, grossly mistreated us and violated customer-service norms developed over the years; right from the beginning she was rude to me and my friends for no reason. My friend mixed up his order and asked for a simple change 2 minutes after ordering and she shook her head and made it seem like it was a huge deal and a burden on her. She then later said, "Never ask me to change anything again." Later one of the other servers took our dishes and we still had some pancakes but we needed a fork so we asked Lily for a fork. She said, "where is the fork I gave you earlier" and I said your co-worker took it and she got another fork for us in the most annoyed way. I was in disbelief about her service and everything felt like a burden for her. I will not be going back to that denny's ever again and you guys will lose a substantial amount of customers from my University. Lily is the worst waitress I have ever had and is the reason for us never returning again. The food was great...
Read moreDenny's is one of our favorite restaurants so we were excited at the thought of having lunch at this location last week when we were in the area. We were so disappointed with our experience at this Langley location! My husband ordered medium rare steak with eggs and had to send the steak back twice - the first steak was literally raw, the second steak was overcooked on the outside but still raw in the middle (and it was obvious from where he had cut into it that they had put the original steak back on the grill and returned it to us) and the third steak was a new steak but they had cut a quarter of it off (possibly to make up for the bites and chunk he cut off of the first steak before discovering it was raw?) and it was completely overcooked. The waitress was lovely and completely agreed the cooks on the steak were unacceptable. I ordered a grand slam with soft/medium soft boiled eggs and hashbrowns. It came with barely any hashbrowns and the eggs were so raw the egg was literally transparent. I sent it back and it took a good 10 minutes to get new eggs and they were now hard as rubber. I didn't eat them or send them back but did make the server aware and chose not to have them replaced again because by this point we were finished everything else and tbh felt bad for her.
