This is a hidden gem. My partner was craving to Korean and Japanese food before flying back to US and good thing we found this place. We ordered a non-spicy tteokbokki because I might get a heart burn to the regular one. I thought I wouldn’t like it because I’m used to the spicy one but they still made the non-spicy tteokbokki so good. Foods are delicious and freshly cooked/made. Take note, they have fresh oysters too on their menu but on seasonal depending on when the oysters are available. Place is not that big but it is cute & instagrammable. The background music is calm, & relaxing. Washrooms are clean and they’re using B&B soap. They even have lotion and sanitizer in there. People are hospitable. Thank you to Naomi and Tay for serving us like parents who gave their children a food to eat. See you next month.
UPDATE: After a month my partner and I are back in this place and they gave us an in house dumplings & spring rolls because they recognized us. My partner was so happy because it is also her birth month. She felt so loved! Food is her love language tho. Lol! This place never stop to amaze us with their fresh & delicious foods. Every time we take a bite, we’re like “this is so good”. Thank you for making are tummy...
Read moreI wish we lived closer to this gem of a restaurant so we could eat here more often! I have eaten here twice now and each time plan on trying new dishes from both the Korean and Japanese menu that never disappoint. My favourite is the unagi donburi or sushi. Their unagi is the best I've had (even including Vancouver sushi restaurants) - it's fresh tasting and doesn't have too much sauce that overwhelms the delicate flavour of the fish. And the tteok-mandu-guk is also delicious, perfect comfort food for a cold evening. I also want to give a special thank you to the owners who were absolutely lovely when we came to eat there close to closing time the other night. We were returning to Vancouver late at night after a very long and exhausting drive through the interior, and to our surprise they were still open. We called them and they told us dine-in was no problem, and even told us to take our time when we were trying to rush to wrap up before they closed. They were so kind and we felt very grateful for the warm service. We will definitely be back when we can, and everyone should try...
Read moreUnfortunately this is my second time eating here and I am extremely disappointed. The first time was great but this time, the sushi just ruined it. I felt like i was eating dessert due to the extremely sweet sauces that covered the sushi. I ordered a miso soup (no complaints other than it was half filled), prawn tempura (this was delicious), spicy salmon oshi and crazy girl roll.
The spicy salmon oshi did not state it would have a sauce, that too a sweet sauce. I also was only given 7 pieces but its suppose to have 8. It was far from spicy. I don't know why the SPICY salmon oshi had a sweet sauce but it just ruined it.
The crazy girl roll was also just disgustingly sweet and soggy. Again it did not state it would have sauce on the menu (i went to the restauraunt to order takeout), but this too was drowing in a sweet sauce which also is the reason it became soggy.
Highly advice to get sauces...
