With the recent closure of The Raving Gamer a few of the people that would get together on Wednesdays and play had nowhere to go, and they graciously allowed us to come in and play. I had a lovely experience! We were happily greeted at the door, given a place to play and felt very welcomed to stay, they even asked to take a picture and pinned it up on a decorative plant with other customers which I thought was a nice touch. On top of the warm welcome, the service and food were wonderful! I had a veggie bento box, it was a lot of food but every section was delicious, hot and fresh. I particularly liked the veggie teriyaki. If you don't know what you'd like it works well as a sampler. I believe they have all the components available in bigger portions if you find one you particularly love. A few people ordered rolls and they seemed to be generously sized as well. Overall a wonderful experience and with all the sushi places around if you are looking for one to try, it is well...
Read moreThis restaurant is scamming people. I just ordered a promo on DoorDash for two California crunch rolls— it was buy one get one free. Since placing my order, I have received several emails notifying me of “extra charges” to my order totalling over $11 in extra frees. I had selected cream cheese for my rolls which was $2 extra in the app, no problem. I’m pretty shocked that this restaurant decided to charge me another $11 in random “extra charges”— so I’m not actually getting a “buy one get one free” deal, but paying more. This is my first time trying this restaurant and it’ll be the last time. I haven’t even received my order yet so I’m basing my experience solely on the fact that they’ve scammed me with several “extra charges” that do not make sense. I suggest taking your business elsewhere, other sushi restaurants don’t scam...
Read moreThe food is quite good, miso soup is very strong in flavor which is not very common in Japanese restaurants in Canada. The yakisoba served on a hot skillet is a nice touch that I have only had in the southern rural sections of Japan, flavorful and oily like it was in Japan. The agadashi tofu I would recommend getting the regular one, both sauces are very sweet compared to what I am used to so get them on the side. While not entirely traditional the katsu don is pretty good, the sauce is on point and tastes fantastic. One nit picky thing I would say is if they switch from the Italian pasta bowl to a proper rice bowl for the don bowls it would be easier to eat. Prices to portion is reasonable, will potentially hit this place one more time while I am...
