Ordered the fiesta feast plus a tray of skewers and it was more than enough to cover for about 25 people. I’m certain that it would’ve been enough for about 35 people too! People were impressed by how tasty the food was. The first to be finished was the palabok (I’ve never seen a palabok dish be finished before anything else) then the chicken inasal was definitely next to be devoured. The sauce of the bbq kept the skewers tasty and all the meats were very tender, even though we served dinner a few hours after delivery. I told our guests that when ordering from NK, they are always very consistent in flavours and presentation is beautiful. NK also had great communication with me which I really value from vendors and they delivered within the time agreed upon. I like the fact that orders can be placed by credit card online and way in advance. Saves me the hassle on a busy day. If there’s one thing that I’d suggest, it would be to add a veggie dish (ensaladang talong or something similar to a papaya salad) to accompany the grilled meats. That would complete the meal for me personally. But overall, I’m happy with...
Read moreI've been aware of Nanay's Kitchen for a while now, primarily through Instagram, but hadn't had the opportunity to try it since they were located quite a distance from me. Recently, I discovered they have a dine-in kitchen in New Westminster, conveniently close to my workplace. Today, I decided to order through DoorDash for the first time and opted for the Inihaw na Liempo. Let me tell you, IT EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS! The food looked great in their Instagram photos, but it tasted even better. Words can't quite capture how delicious it was—I practically devoured it. Having moved from Winnipeg, where Filipino restaurants are top-notch, I've struggled to find comparable places elsewhere. Nanay's Kitchen, however, exceeded my expectations. I'm definitely planning to visit their restaurant soon and explore their party platters. This place hits home.
P.S. Their portions are really good vs the ones from other filipino restaurants....
Read moreAfter a tiring day of shopping, my stomach was screaming for some authentic Filipino comfort food. Luckily, this gem of a restaurant popped up on my search. Nestled within the Food Zone Inn, the place was a cozy haven with a clean and inviting atmosphere. The friendly staff made me feel right at home.
I couldn't resist ordering the classic chicken inasal, drizzled with its signature sweet soy sauce. The chicken was so tender and flavorful that it melted in my mouth. My only regret was not asking for the extra kick of calamansi and chili. It would have been the perfect finishing touch.
As a side, I indulged in a heavenly tortang talong. It was a nostalgic taste of home, reminding me of my Nanay's cooking. While it was delicious on its own, I can't wait to try it with banana ketchup next time.
This place is a must-visit for anyone craving a taste of the Philippines. I'll definitely be back when I'm...
