Fair food, but terrible service and depressing atmosphere.
Cleanliness was subpar - women's restroom has two stalls with no locks on the doors, and cardboard over one sink informing you that the taps don't work.
The booth at which we were seated was across from the pay station and high traffic, which would have been ok if the place was full, but it wasn't. We weren't asked if this was acceptable.
We each ordered fish and chips (according to the menu, recommended by the LA Times, Globe & Mail, and Chatelaine - not to mention Don Cherry). This came with a large order of gravy, which we did not want, but no lemon, which we did. There was no water served or offered.
Our meals were served on plastic cartoon-ish fish-shaped plates...it was much like being at a kids' birthday party. The tartar sauce is kept in a squeeze bottle on the table next to the ketchup...we were wondering just how long it had been there.
As soon as I put my fork down, the server swooped in and took away my dish while my partner was still eating (there was still food on my fish-plate). No take home option was offered.
We were seated no more than 25 minutes from beginning to end, and we left feeling like we had inconvenienced the place just by showing up.
I get the need to turn the table, but I've never felt quite so rushed or unappreciated as a diner that I can remember.
The hype of the food on the menu isn't accurate, but had the service been even average it would have been unremarkable instead of disappointing.
In case you think we are negative we left a $7 (20٪) tip because we prefer to...
Read moreStopped in today with my family. When you walk in, you are greeted and asked to log your name, phone number and then your temperature is taken with a digital thermometer (no contact) which is very proactive in this present Covid climate. We were seated and given a disposable menu which I appreciated because less contact surfaces to share, the better! We ordered our food and it came in about 10 minutes and was piping hot! I ordered the cheeseburger platter and it was a handmade patty which is so much tastier than the cardboard cutouts. My mother and aunt ordered a 2pc fish and chips, it looked delicious! They said it was super tasty! Our waitress was amazing and very personable! A wonderful experience!
An observation: they are cleaning thoroughly between customers and actually letting the disinfectant sit on contact surfaces and do its work before wiping it away with paper towels, which I've noticed is not always the case in some restaurants. Great practices to help prevention. Will definitely...
Read moreWe've been here a few times but never write a review. Stop by yesterday on the way home to PEI from Halifax. When we came in, we greeted with a big smile and the waitress seated us right away. Then another waitress came to the table and greet us again with a big smile. We ordered fish and chips and fish burger, all tastes like heaven! Definitely the best! Crispy, light and not greasy. We can feel the freshness of the fish. Very simple yet it's perfect. Order came in less than 15 mnts. Our waitress Amanda is such a sweetheart and very attentive to us. You know the feeling when you meet the worker that works with their heart not just because she has to be there, she's the one! She loves what she's doing and customer can feel the genuine when she serves. Thank you for best foods and best service to end our summer vacation. We'll be back next time, that's for sure.
And also the price is unbeatable! We are a group of 5, and our bill...
