Came for a late lunch with a Vietnamese friend who’d been craving, in their words, “really good pho” as they’d been missing their mum’s cooking since moving out from Ontario a few months ago; both other places they’d been to were in their view: very average and overpriced.

The space was tidy, relaxed and had a few other diners when we arrived, the lady behind the counter was busy but gestured to seat ourselves. They brought us menus and then did a vaxx-passport and photo ID match check.

Serves of hot tea quickly came next and our orders taken. It couldn’t have been much more than 5-minutes before our large bowl of steaming hot pho arrived, and the piece of lemon grass chicken a couple of minutes later.

My friend thoroughly enjoyed their #1 pho- house special $12.25, flavourful broth, very fresh and pretty generous serves of the different beef ingredients. I had the #9 pho- rare beef, brisket, tendon $11.95 and had the spicy broth: seriously delicious. The beef slices were tender, the brisket was the kind that almost melts in your mouth, and the pieces of tendon were so so tender. I really like that the bean sprouts are quickly blanched before they’re served - still crisp but temperature wise, they don’t cook down the pho when they’re added. Oh and the lemongrass chicken had a really good cook/grill on it and was well-seasoned and so more-ish!

Service wise, both ladies that we interacted with were cordial and super efficient! Servings were definitely generous, both had to-go boxes for the third/half our pho because it was too good to leave. No doubt I’ll be back for my next casual Vietnamese...

The restaurant has been at this location for many years, with the same staff. Although the employees don't often smile, the service is incredibly fast. We always order the beef pho, which consistently tastes good. The prices are very reasonable, and they offer a 10% discount on Tuesdays. We used to come here once a week a long time ago, but with the opening of numerous new Vietnamese restaurants, we haven't been coming as frequently.

Today, I came with a friend, and we both decided to try the special grilled chicken minced shrimp wrapped in sugar cane, served with vegetables and steamed rice noodles. Everything was absolutely delicious! The chicken was tender, the prawns had a nice texture, and there were plenty of vegetables. The portion size was huge. There are only a few parking spots available behind the restaurant, so we usually park along the street. The lunch hours tend to be very busy. The only downside is that they only accept cash, but aside from that, it's definitely...

I haven’t been to this location in a long time and I recently visit for the grill beef short ribs with vermicelli ( bánh hỏi xường bò nướng) I must say its very disappointing this time. The beef was chewy tough ,dry, burned and on the top of that it wasn’t fresh, moreover they knew the beef was dry burned but they served it anyway by hiding the burned side down and plate the unburned part up. I came by one of the staff telling her to check on the beef cuz it got a funny smell not fresh but they ignored it completely what I told them. I usually finished my plate as I have ordered it many times before but this time I couldn’t continue eating as the flavour has changed, and the inconsistency of cooking it as well as other features described above....
