I feel like my experience was an outlier because there are so many good reviews but I really did not like my cut from here and even as it's grown out it hasn't improved much for me. My stylist and I chatted, I showed them a photo of the cut I was looking for, and they seemed like they understood what was going on with my hair. My cut was different from what I showed them in a lot of key ways. One fo the main things I mentioned was wanting curtain bangs, and they cut very long face framing layers that fell about 2.5 inches below my jaw. My reference photo had slightly chunkier and blunter bangs that fell about 0.5-1 inch above the jaw with a few pieces around the apples of the cheeks. The rest of the cut in my reference photo and wispy layering falling just below the collar bone, with all the layers falling below the jaw. The cut I got had mostly blunt cutting on the collarbone area and then with chunky layering that mostly sat at earlobe length on the top, with some thinning that sat at the top of my ears as well. There wasn't much transition between this layering and the bottom length and it had a shelf-like layer kind of effect on my hair. The layering on the top sections of my hair were significantly shorter than my "bangs". My stylist had clearly noted that I had a lot more density in the bottom sections of my hair so I'm not sure why the bottom was left so thick and blunt with lighter layers sitting so high on top. One thing that I've noticed about 8 weeks after getting my hair cut is that I already had noticeable split ends. I'm really confused by this as I don't expect that they would be using dull shears, but also I've never noticed split ends appearing so quickly after a cut. I had over 6 inches taken off so it's definitely not just because I didn't get enough trimmed off and other than a small streak my hair was virgin/unprocessed. I also don't heat style my hair and wash it every 3-4 days usually so it being routine damage doesn't check out either. I can't say for sure that it was something to do with the cut I received though(maybe that section of my growth was just in poorer health who knows).
I wanted to treat myself this year and go to a nice salon, and ended up being pretty disappointed. This is by far the most expensive hair cut I've gotten in my life(I think it was about 135 after fees, before a tip) but it was in the bottom 5 in satisfaction. I can't say I would come back and try again just because it is so expensive. It's sad because I came to this salon loving the photos I'd seen of the stylists work. I definitely could have done a better job advocating that I was unhappy with some of the cut but in the moment you just kind of want to trust that the stylist knows what they're doing, and waiting to see if it turns out. By no means was it horrible, but I definitely felt unsatisfied especially...
Read moreI had my hair coloured in 5 different countries along the years & this was the most expensive & most disappointing ever! I needed Color correction two parts job to cover the gray on top of the hair& darken the rest of the hair in a way that kills/ covers the red pigment and make the hair Color’s look smoothly blended together then later do some night lights. The stylist (Cam) guaranteed the service. Promised if within two weeks if I had any comments will be fixed to my satisfaction. I had my hair done on Thursday and happened to have a birthday party on Saturday. All 5 friends who saw me and my husband had the same comments “ your hair much darker from the top and sure has red/ orange hues it looks more like I only coloured the top half. So naturally I emailed the stylist asking if we can fix it kill the red& make the rest of the hair darker so it’s closer to the top colour. The reply I received was that we are not a good fit & I may never be satisfied I was refused service and I wasn’t offered any compensation. I tried to explain that’s not even what I thought it’s hard for me to see the rest of my hair but that’s what all my friends said but I received the same answer. Even though I had a 20 minutes paid consultation with the stylist before the appointment to decide if we were a good fit, during this appointment I clearly confirmed what I need ES most to kill the red undertones which a lot of stylist can’t do it but was confirmed it’s doable with that Demi permenan Ny hair die which is different than what everyone else uses “I asked will my hair Color looks closer to you? “Yes” was the answer I received. Extremely disappointing & I paid close to 400 $ for basically root touch up to cover grey hair which I can do anywhere from a fracture of that price. I was hesitant to write this review because I hate giving a bad review but it feels...
Read moreI have been to field trip a couple times and I have always had really great hair cuts from there stylists, not to mention the salon is aborable.
Unfortunately my last appointment yesterday wasn’t so great. The stylist I usually see, kiko, wasn’t available so I went to Ryan. I am pretty low maintenance about my hair but I did want either an undercut or to have it faded out and I wear it quite short. We talked at the beginning of the appointment about what to do and he told me I couldn’t have an undercut since my hair wasn’t long enough. I said that was fine, I mused about growing my hair out to have an undercut later. Then I said I would prefer it to just be faded out. Again he said this wouldnt allow me to grow out my hair for an undercut. I felt like he wasn’t really listening, but I have always had good experiences with Field Trip in the past so I said I trusted his judgement. When the cut was done it really didn’t look like what I had in mind and I didn’t know what to say. I felt like I had done something wrong. When I tried to ask him to fix it he abruptly told me again that he didn’t think what I wanted would let me grow my hair out for an undercut. Then refused to do it. His attitude towards me felt rude and sullen.
I have a hair cut that looks ok, and but it’s not what I wanted and I was left feeling confused and disappointed by the lack of customer service.
Edit: I realized that this has been up for awhile now and I just want to add that Field trips head stylist reached out to me afterwards and fixed my hair at no...
