I made the mistake of letting my friend take the watch i had just given him into Golden Leaf Jewellers to have to engraved. I had just bought him a beautiful citizen watch. Not a cheap knock off or replica but a genuine article. While there he noticed a lovely ring with a beautiful Saphire mounted in the centre. The ring was too big and he asked if they could size the ring. Although the ring was originally $500.00 regular but on sale for $300.00 plus tax the sizing wasnt included. That was the first sign that he should have steered clear of this place. however he sent off his new watch and his new ring to be sized and the watch engraved. You will not believe what returned. The ring has these dark spots where the soldering was placed. it looks like gun metal and the ring was supposed to be silver. There are areas all over the band where the silver is chipping off... im not sure where in the world a ring made from questionable materials has ever cost $300 plus tax. Now wait till you hear what happened to the watch. The engraving cost $45.00 and took about 4 days to complete. They had to send it away to be done. New watches of any and all calibres have a protective plastic layer on the back of the watch. Made so that the owner of this new watch can peel it off and feel good that the watch has not been tampered with. The watch came back with the plastic layer engraved and not the watch. Im not sure weather to laugh or to cringe at this utter lack of professionalism. my friend wont complain so i am on his behalf. now after complaining to the woman at the store he was informed that he would have to pay to have it polished in order to remove the staining left from this sizing that i have never seen such a garbage job. i...
Read moreA simple battery change for a watch turned into 3 returning visits because issues kept coming up with my watch. First time I had humidity gathering up, left it there, came back a day after, got home, humidity again, left it there again, picked it up a day after, going to the gym and I see that my stopper is not aligned and instead of starting at 0 it starts at 30 and goes back to there when reset. I went back, the lady there insisted it's not their fault and when they replace a battery they don't touch it. Which makes sense, but what doesn't make sense is to have so many issues with a simple battery change. I have this Seiko watch for 7 years and never had a single issue with it. She did offer that I come back when the repairman is there for him to see but today, two days after, and 3 weeks after this saga began, the battery ran out again. Usually a battery lasts for around a year and half for me. I highly suggest you don't go there for a battery change.
At this point I decided to stop wasting my time and find another place that knows how to handle watches, rather than them ruining my watch even more
Edit: I just took the watch to another place and there was in fact an issue with the watch so I gotta take that back, they didn't mess up my watch, it was just old and started malfunctioning. The service definitely needs to improve, as I did go there like 3 times just to still have humidity...
Read moreI had a watch band resized and a battery replaced here. The initial service was great, both the woman and her (husband?) were super friendly and helpful. It turned out there was an additional (legitimate) problem with the watch that needed a repair.
I happily paid for the band resizing on the spot and gave them about a 30% tip. I was quoted $60 for the watch repair which I was fine with. Thankfully I had her write down the price on my repair ticket in her own handwriting.
They called me to say the watch was ready for pickup. When I went, the lady seemed weirdly standoffish with me, which I didn't really understand. She got the watch and the price had magically turned into $75. I am glad I had her write the original quote on the ticket in her writing, so I still only paid $60. But the whole interaction was unnecessarily tense on the return visit. I was completely content going in there but she just seemed annoyed.
One time is no big deal, but I noticed a few other reviews talking about misquoted prices. If you go here, make sure you get your quotes in clear writing somehow.
Also, service could just be less... confrontational. I don't know why it had to be like that on the second visit. Just chill out and be friendly with people.
In the end they did the two jobs for the price quoted and the repaired watch seems to be working fine. Would probably go back for...
