Be warned: We received no service here. None at all, aside from being seated.
This place has the worst service ever. What happened here has never happened to me in my entire life. I was deeply offended.
My friend has never been to De Dutch Pancakes before and I wanted her to try their amazing food. So went there for breakfast. It was not busy at all; there were plenty of open tables available and with only a handful of customers seated at the tables. We got seated right away, but the problem came afterwards; no one came up to us to take our order.
We knew exactly what we wanted to order, so we had our menus closed, ready to order, eyeing the waitresses as they passed by but no one came.
Not one single person.
Not for water, not for anything, not even to tell us "Hey, we'll be with you in a few minutes", I mean, it was as if we were not even there.
Waitresses passed by our table and none of them bothered to even look at us. They just walked on by. It was more important for them to serve others and clean empty tables than to take our order.
We were waiting for 25 minutes, then we had had enough.
We were very disappointed. We literally just walked out of there and drove to the De Dutch on W 2nd Ave where we received the best service ever, and we never even mentioned what had just happened to us. The waitress was super nice, frequently came to the table to see how we were doing. Basically, she knew how to do her job, unlike the servers at the De Dutch on Oak Street. We made sure to give her a big tip for the excellent service.
As for the De Dutch on Oak Street, we will never set foot there again.
Would not recommend this place at all to anyone.

Read moreClean, bright restaurant with delicious food (best savoury, eggy French Toast in town) and cheerful attentive service. The coffee is always good and the refills are frequent. During Covid this slowly transitioned from "place I go to from time to time" to "place I got to 2 or 4 times a week!" They even give you two minty chocolate squares with your bill, so you can look forward to paying. And the music is audible but soft. I can't think of any negative. Oh, and while the pancakes are Dutch-style pannenkoek, the menu includes benedicts, omelettes, burgers, sandwiches, etc. etc., so there's something...

Opened the door, Sort of disappointed 😞 . was expecting some 1960 style cafe / brunch like in a movie. there is nothing historical about it. Everything is brand new. Decor, tables chairs... Even the helpers are brand new.... Hmmm.
Had breakfast, egg n hash browns. Cannot go wrong.... Hot waitresses gave me hot sauce ... Wooo hot.
Only afterwards did I found out their pancakes are legendary 🤣🤣🤣 will visit soon... Pancake...
