Didn’t actually eat in and my boyfriend got the food so I don’t know about the atmosphere, I got the chicken shawarma wrap. I don’t like Halifax style and apparently they don’t even have the sweet sauce, so perfect for me. So the chicken was a mix of thigh and breast which was fatty and delicious (not greasy), they use leaf lettuce instead of iceberg, which made it feel more full without making ME too full. BF got the chicken platter and falafels, the rice is nicely seasoned and everything is so flavourful in their own ways. The hummus was smooth and the garlic dip was garlicky, that being said, there was a lot of garlic in the whole meal but I don’t feel like I’m scaring vampires right after. My bf is sitting next to me and with every bite he’s saying “mmmm!! Ya we’re going here again!!” I don’t usually like falafels but he made me try them and he was right, they’re actually the star of our dinner. So crispy, and I have to say there’s something to be said about the taste of a dirty fryer or maybe heat of the fryer, that just really lends it to some foods, these falafels are one!!
Man we are so happy and comfortably full! Nothing is cheap in the city, so don’t go expecting a cheap meal, but we didn’t break the bank either.
Highly highly recommend and will...
Read moreI went there late this past Sunday night as my GF was in the mood for a chicken wrap and we've always been more than happy with the food and service at this location. I kind of felt bad for the 2 ladies working there as it was only about 10 minutes before they closed and they had already started to clean up. If these ladies were disappointed at all with serving one more customer they certainly didn't show it all. They both had big friendly smiles and chatted with me as my wrap was being prepared. I then joked that I had decided to eat there which would have kept them there even longer but they knew I was just kidding and laughed. To the Manager / Owner I just want to add this - as someone who managed various bars over the years you need to do whatever it takes to keep these ladies part of your staff. Employees like these 2 are truly worth their weight in gold. Sure the food was great ( as usual ) but it was the service that...
Read moreI'll keep it real, this place is great. Live nearby and have been going since they were called Falafelly Good. I usually get the falafel plate and it's really filling, you get good value for the money, even though sometimes you feel mixed about it when ordering (compared to the price point for Wraps). The dudes working are nice.
They prepare and fry your falafel to order, which is great compared to other places that fry a batch and then keep them warm. The rice has a nice amount of dill. The hummus is great and I also love their fries with the tzatziki and hot sauce. I'm a vegetarian but my wife gets the chicken and lamb and I think it's hard to come up with any complaints. The only thing I can think of is the pita bread they serve w the plate options -- it's pretty average pita bread and sometimes a little dry or stale.
I'm posting this review because this is a great find in the area and I hope...
