This is perhaps my favourite cafe in all of Vancouver! I love the owners, a very sweet couple who make this cafe super welcoming and comfortable. The coffee menu is small but well curated, and they have an amazing selection of cakes and macrons.

The cafe is well-visited but never too busy, so I can easily stay here for hours and never worry that I am taking a seat away from someone else. Lots of people come through and either buy something to go, or stay and enjoy the atmosphere. It feels like a real community hub, and the owners seem to recognize a lot of the people.

The bibimbap is delicious and a good portion size with great components. I like the sprouts in it the best. I've tried lots of the cakes and my favourite is the sweet potato, because it has a great flavour and is a lovely soft and fluffy texture. When you order cake or food the owners also give you a tiny sample of cake, a great way to taste test the various cakes. The cakes are the right size, neither too much nor too little and above all, are not too sweet!

I especially love the yuzu soda, which has such a bright flavour. The coffees are good and slightly on the darker/bitter side, which is perfect when paired with the sweetness of a...

One of the best cakes I've ever had that just literally MELTS in your mouth and the most amazing customer service! I left a quote for a cake and the owner called me personally trying to make it work even though I needed it for a day they were not open. He even offered to deliver if I lived nearby. Eventually I ordered it on a day they were open but could not make it before closing time and he delivered it to my home on his way home! (Of course I paid more for delivery but still - who does that?!). I tried the passion fruit cake, sweet potato, red velvet and matcha crunch cake and every single one of them were beyond expectations. A couple of my friends who said they usually don't even like cake were also impressed. It looks like are all going to be ordering from this place for the next little while now :). The cakes taste better than Thierry, and even the more expensive places like Buttermere (though those places are good too but just..was not as good as Henry's!). HIGHLY...

My fiance and I decided to get outside and enjoy the weekend here in Vancouver, as were walking up Burrard street in between w. 4th Avenue and Broadway, there was something at the corner of our eyes catching our attention. It was this beautiful tiny cafe that had a sign for treats, Americanos and Korean Beef Bulgogi. Immediately we had to check this place out. We were greeted by the most humble and compassionate South Korean couple who are the owners of Gateau de Henry, and felt right at home in this tiny little cafe. We ordered the daily special which was an Americano + any dessert on menus for 7.50 (an absolute deal of a price) and had decided to choose the Tirmasu cake. OMG this was the best cake, service and humble experience we have ever had. Your kindness goes above and beyond the call of duty, and we cannot wait to come back and try your famous Beef Bulgogi..

Highly suggest anyone in Vancouver stop by and...

I have passed by this little cafe so many times (living nearby for over 7 years!), but never really had the chance to try it. It was either closed or I’d already eaten… now I regret that I hadn’t sooner 😒 In a hurry, I thought I’d grab something passing by today. I rarely have Korean food (even though I am Korean) and wanted to try the bibimbap or bulgogi, but since I was pressed for time, I chose the tuna sandwich. It was awesome! It was delicious and very filling. I wish I had taken a picture to post! I’ll definitely have to get it again (just to post a picture 😋), and try the bibimbap… and bulgogi… Also, I’d seen the positive reviews about the place and owners, and they seem to be legit. The owners are very nice and very cute 🥰 감사합니다 ~ 잘먹어섭니다! Edit: Screw it! I’m going back to try something for dessert before they close! Looking at the reviews after I left mine, I can’t help myself, and I’m not a dessert person either 🤣

We had the cake and americano special and also ordered an injeolmi macaron. For the cake we chose the sweet potato cake. It wasn't too sweet and was light and fluffy. I just wished that it had more sweet potato goguma flavour to it. The americano was good not too strong The injeolmi macaron was our favorite. It was hard to cut but the inside melts in your mouth and the outside was chewy as a macaron should be. Not too sweet. I wish there was mochi inside to really remind me more of the Asian injeolmi flavour The owners are super friendly and nice. If you eat there or take away they always give you a small sample of something. This is the cutest little place. Their cakes are reasonably priced and not overly sweet. Would come back for other cakes (I've had the matcha crunch cake and the sweet potato. I prefer the match crunch cake)
