Small cafe, a little inconspicuous, but very cozy and well-kept. I love how it feels like you're inside a little secret room. The barista was very nice. I got an ultimate veggie sandwich, a pistachio cube croissant, and a cortadito. The sandwich was very tasty (I loved the tangy dressing), but it seemed like it was conceived by a meat-eater who doesn't know what vegetarians eat, by which I mean it was mostly loaded with a lot of light vegetables and ultimately didn't have much satiating power despite the actual size of the sandwich being fine. Something like hummus, a second slice of cheese to make it a melt, or a "heavier" vegetable like squash or eggplant would have filled it out. The cube croissant and cortadito were perfection though. I really appreciated that the croissant wasn't the kind that left my hands buttery and didn't crumble when I took a bite, but the layers were tender and soft, and the dough wasn't sweet which allowed the pistachio filling and dark chocolate shell to shine. The espresso in the cortadito seemed to have a lot of natural sweetness, it was very pleasant. I wouldn't go back for lunch just because there's not a big selection and I felt like I paid too much for a sandwich that did not fill me up, so I'm okay with it being a one-and-done stop for me, but it was worth the visit. If you eat meat, their other sandwiches are probably great - or if you're vegetarian and just not very hungry, you might like their veggie sandwich.

I visited Guffo Cafe in Vancouver this past March, and it has not left my mind since. We enjoyed two chocolate croissants, which were exceptionally soft, flavorful, and FRESH. I also had an iced sweet cappuccino that was simply delightful. The atmosphere in the cafe was also charming and inviting. However, the highlight of our visit was the owner. Although I didn’t catch his name, he was one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. He had great passion for his craft and he truly was just an inspiring guy. He even took the time to chat with us about coffee, music, and more. It was refreshing to experience such authentic human interaction in a world where everyone is so disassociated from one another. My partner and I still remember him and talk about how awesome he was from time to time! I highly recommend that anyone visiting Vancouver support this wonderful cafe. It will definitely be our first stop when we return to the city in December! It’s so awesome here!

What an exceptionally delightful hidden gem. One of those moments you take the wrong turn in the rain and a beacon of comfort appears. Decide to give it a go and I was not disappointed! The space with its lighting, large windows, decor, plants all come together to make a cosy little bolt hold. Plenty of options to drink and eat. The barista is knowledgeable and passionate about the coffee; explaining the unique Swiss beans used and specialist machine for utilising the best coffee extraction. The cortado I had was incredibly delicious, lots of flavour and satisfying, easily the best coffee I’ve had in Downtown Vancouver. They had lots of temptingly great looking croissants, sandwiches and pastries. I went for the spinach feta strudel, again, was amazing. Best bang for your buck and reasonable priced given its downtown. Highly recommended you check this place out if you’re looking for a pick-me-up near Waterfront / Canada Place

Guffo Cafe: Cozy Vibes and Exceptional Coffee

Ambiance and Atmosphere: Guffo Cafe is the epitome of a warm and inviting coffee spot. Its cozy setup and laid-back atmosphere make it an ideal place to start your day or take a mid-afternoon break. The space feels personal and intimate, the kind of cafe where you could easily become a regular without even realizing it.

Service Quality: The staff at Guffo Cafe are some of the friendliest and most engaged you’ll find in Vancouver. Their genuine passion for coffee and hospitality creates a welcoming environment that keeps you coming back. Each interaction feels personal, and they take care to make every visit special, whether you’re a first-timer or a daily visitor.

Food and Beverage: Guffo Cafe takes its coffee seriously, delivering consistently delicious drinks with every order. From expertly pulled espresso shots to velvety lattes, the quality of the coffee is second to none. Each cup is crafted with care, and you can taste the attention to detail in every sip. As someone who visited nearly every day during my stay and sampled other cafes in the area, Guffo easily stood out as one of the best.

Overall Experience and Value: With its excellent coffee, friendly service, and cozy atmosphere, Guffo Cafe is a must-visit for anyone in Vancouver. It’s clear why this spot became my daily go-to—it’s the perfect blend of great coffee and genuine hospitality. For coffee lovers, it doesn’t get much better than this.

Recommendation: If you’re in Vancouver, Guffo Cafe should be at the top of your coffee shop list. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, it’s a spot that will quickly win you over with its charm and...

TLDR; nice decor, cute owl mascots and cups. Subpar coffee drinks and stale croissants. I appreciate the shop writing back so I updated my review. Perhaps the coffee I usually drink is simply stronger. I’ll stop by and try again. Was really looking forward to getting coffee here on my trip due to the great reviews. Cute small shop that’s nicely decorated with a good amount of seating given the square footage. Whoever did the owl mascots did a great job.

Now, the coffee. The person making my cappuccino didn’t even bother to make any latte art or properly foam the milk. It looked like she stuck a straw in the milk and blew bubbles. The coffee was very weak and flavorless. You guys gotta retrain that barista.

The chocolate croissant was definitely not fresh. It tasted like it was a day old. We order this in the morning. I would have expected fresh croissant for the high price (almost $8!!).

I don’t know who’s writing these crazy high reviews but this place was definitely a let down. It has potential if they work on their espresso drinks and use...
