This place had one of the best employees an establishment such as this could possibly have ever asked for. Hadn't seen her in a while. This is conspiracy level thinking, but I don't think the owners of this place appreciated her the way she deserved and most likely, you fired her or she left because she wasnt appreciated the way she deserved imo. Most of us came there for her and if there was never an effort to keep her. I will no longer be spending my money here and for the people who appreciate business owners that take care of there employees I would suggest you do the same.

Unless, the owners of this place have a fair and reasonable explanation why Camil no longer works here? and why quality has gone down, sizes have gone down, while prices have gone up? Why this place used to be the type of place you could get a warm greeting and feel like part of a community but now has lost its charm? Why there is a tip option when the person worth tipping that had that incredible customer service is now gone and the only reason most gave a tip here? While some of the now current staff, and no offence intended i'm sure its not a dream job and your underpaid, there give eye rolls and mediocre service if you don't tip in a place that isnt a sit down restaurant?

Other than that, Camil, if your reading this. Thank you for creating years of valuable service to this neighbourhood. I hope you have found a new job that respects and appreciates you. You never once complained or said anything negative about the owners, your job, nothing. Not during covid, not ever. The only reason I've even built this conspiracy theory is spending so much time and money in that establishment. Being an observant human being and listening to the other staff and coming to my own conclusions. I'd say from what I've heard sitting in that place for the last 7 years est 2019 is that I'm fair in my assessment. You should've paid her more and realized what she brought to your business. Now, barring a reasonable response could have just cost yourselves a lot of $$$. This neighbourhood is very well connected and...

If there was a 6 star rating I'd definitely give them that I was just there not 1/2 hour ago when it my turn at the cash (there was a pretty long line up i could safely say)( if you read any one of my reviews on any Micky D's I've been to this place would get the 6 star's on how fast these people worked on getting everyone through quickly simply amazing VS Micky D's line ups of late this no bull 20/30 minutes there VS 2/3 minutes at this place ) so as I asked the lady what's the best heart health choice here and take a guess what her response was ................she didn't even loose a heart beat in her response (no pun intended) everything here is good for you sir! Update:

It looks like they have let Camille go. She poured her heart and soul into making that place a great experience. I will no longer be spending my money and encouraging everyone in the community to do the same. We are tight knit bunch and it shouldn’t be hard to do. It’s sad too, it’s the only place to grab food, somewhat, in the loosest sense of the word, affordable and clean in the area. I checked in today to see if she still works there and she does not. Whether she left on her own accord or not I caught moments that ownership treated her poorly especially considering how much she made that place what it was. Even with all that I never heard her complain or grovel in even the slightest, tho I wouldn’t have blamed her if she did. Camille was that entire business too many of us. Stop spending your money there, this place will go under and hopefully we can get something new there. You know what you did spoons + bowls. Tsk tsk

Original: I love coming down for the food but also to see Camille. She always...

Soup Etc. had their first location on Hamilton Street and then they moved to Granville & Broadway. I've been looking for them ever since they moved away from South Granville. We finally found them in an area in East Hastings that is gradually being updated. I had intended to try one of their sandwiches, but couldn't resist the pies when I saw them. Disappointingly, they are still heating pies the old fashioned way – with a microwave, can you believe it?! Even though the pie was soggy, the pastry and pie content tasted OK. Oh, imagine how flaky and wonderful as it would have been if they had used a MerryChef oven! My partner ended up with the wrong pie though as the order desk person made the wrong assumption.

Good chill place in the community, but my experience was not that good today. I ordered a Turkey Club sandwich and the Wild Salmon Chowder soup. The sandwich: it was way overcooked (bread, top & bottom). See attached. I have to throw away around 1/4 bread because the black area is bad for health. The sandwich was thinner than before (not sure if it’s just mine). The soup: good as usual. The service: I was waiting longer than usual and the lady was doing other stuff, which could be the reason for overcooked sandwich. Price: it used to be $13.7? and now $14.6. I actually don’t mind the tiny increase as long as the quality and service are good. Quite disappointed overall.

Bump into this nice little shop on a Monday morning. A good variety of soup/stew and the "solid" items sound delicious too. I picked a combination of Beef Stew and Mexican Breakfast Wrap, which was very much beyond my expectation. The stew was full of veggies and minced beef, while the breakfast wrap had a good amount of stuffing made up of hot sausage and scrambled eggs. And it was only $12 with tips! Will definitely come again.
