I love finding places just like these. Quaint little humble places to eat, bonus if the food is delicious, bonus if the staff is friendly and inviting.
I'm happy to report that this place is excellent.
My daughter ordered a bowl of cream of mushroom, my wife ordered a mushroom cheeseburger with a side of cream of mushroom, and I ordered the clubhouse and fries. Let me just say, the cream of mushroom was superb, and I can't stand cream of mushroom soup normally. The clubhouse was warm, soft, and delicious top to bottom and the fries were perfect The burger was as well scrumptious and steaming hot (on a summer day!)
Food this good normally comes with a wait time, but no, we waited perhaps 5 minutes before food started arriving, and maybe 15 minutes total for everything to have arrived.
The staff is so friendly. The waitress and front woman was smiling the entire time and with every question I asked. She genuinely made me feel like she appreciated that we were guests at her restaurant.
During our stay we noticed people coming in and out, but it was never too crowded or cramped. Lending itself to a comfortable stay where I didn't feel rushed. We also noticed plenty of what we assume are regulars popping in and out, and the staff remembering their regular orders at a moments notice. Now that's service.
We enjoyed our stay so much we ordered a born of Wonton Soup just to extend it a little bit longer. And you know what? They were frickin delicious as well.
I'd say it's pretty easy to recommend this place. It's easy to miss as you drive along Hastings avoiding the traffic, and if your expecting high class and fancy tables and seating you may be disappointed. This isn't a romantic dinner location. This is instead a fantastic place to come for a relaxed and delicious meal with the family or friends.

Read moreGo there for breakfast quite often. The cafe is small but cozy. Staff friendly. For the price of the breakfast you get ample portions. Shredded hash browns, with a bit of a golden crunch, two eggs and your choice of meat and toast. So good and so worth it. They serve lunch and dinner too but haven't had time to sample anything else on their menu. Lots more choices on the breakfast too. Love the crispy bacon. Would definitely refer people looking for value and size.
Feb 20/23 Been wanting to try other things on their menu so had some time today to drop in and try something off their lunch menu. Had the house burger and fries and gravy. As usual, quick and friendly service and wasn't disappointed. Lots of mushrooms, crispy bacon, patty looks homemade but not sure. Fries crisp, food hot and for the portion size WOULD easily pay way more anywhere else. It's my go to for comfort food and I really enjoy the atmosphere. Don't usually tip as most places are overpriced compared to portion size, the wait is too long and they expect a large tip for less than satisfactory effort. Would HIGHLY recommend this place!! I actually like to tip decent here because...
Read moreThis is a small hole in the wall spot that serves up western comfort food with a small Chinese food menu - burgers, fries, soup, omelletes etc. The staff here are so friendly and will do their best to accommodate you - for example, they brought out my food so I didn't have to go in again after ordering!
Food is really good - I had their cheese burger awhile ago and it was filling, tasty and came with a side of crinkle cut French fries!
Price - you'll be mindblown by how cheap the food is. Food is quality and price is so affordable.
Very old and run down looking in the exterior and interior, though, it has the late 80s no fuss-diner vibe and feel.
Today I didn't have much cash on hand so I just ordered a small French fries - $3.95. Came out hot, tasty and not...
