I witnessed a server being treated extremely poorly by a rude customer at this restaurant. After reading the review left by the customer, I am certain her name is Maya. She and her group blocked the entrance, preventing other customers from passing. The server repeatedly asked them to wait in line, practically begging them thousands of times, but Maya and her group ignored her and continued blocking the way. Eventually, when the server asked them to wait outside, Maya acted like a victim and threatened to leave a bad review.
In the review Maya left, she claimed she was mistreated just because she wasn’t Korean, but from what I saw, that’s far from the truth. It seemed like Maya thought she could treat the server poorly just because she was a young Asian woman and ignore her reasonable requests. Maya completely disrespected the server, even though the server was just doing her job and asking politely. The server’s attitude and service were absolutely fantastic — she remained professional and courteous despite the situation. Those who weren’t there can’t even imagine how badly Maya and her group treated the server. I witnessed it all firsthand.
To be clear, when you pay for food, you’re paying for the food, not the right to treat restaurant staff poorly. No customer has the right to disrespect the dignity of a worker. Watching someone like Maya, who doesn’t follow basic rules and then throws a tantrum when things don’t go her way, is appalling. I truly hope this restaurant doesn’t get swayed by baseless complaints because the server provided excellent service. If needed, I’m more than...
Read moreThe restaurant is cool, the design is friendly and food is great. However the service is really poor, as most of the times the servers don't pay too much attention to the customers and are rude and quite annoyed. But that's not the only thing because I recently went there and I got charged twice because apparently one of the servers told me the machine didn't accept the payment but it was not true. I should have asked for the receipt and that was a mistake of mine but when I realized few days later I was missing some money from my bank account, and I saw a double processed transaction for the same bill, I went back to the restaurant to try to get some help from them with my card and my bank account opened on my phone. The first time I found this girl with dyed hair and glasses who seemed like she didn't wanna help me at all since the only thing she said after she saw the transactions on the machine was "you should call the bank and ask them". She claimed she couldn't find the number of my Interac card on the system but I'm 100% sure (if my brain still works) that that's the only card I used to pay. Knowing the answer from the bank already I went a second time to speak with a Manager and another girl came. She was nicer but again, she told me the same thing as the girl before as she couldn't find the number of my card on the system. So basically I lost 57$ and not even a single solution.
Very disappointing considering that it's one of my favorite restaurants in Vancouver because of the...
Read moreHidden gem near English Bay! This is now my new favorite Korean Fried Chicken establishment. Recommended to come here by a friend and honestly thought they were overhyping the place as there seems to be a new KFC restaurant popping up everywhere and they all seem to very pretty decent.
Came here and ordered Cheesy Bacon Gamja Jeon (Potato Pancake) $19, Cheese Powder Chicken $28, Honey Garlic Chicken $25.50, and Yang-Nyum Chicken $25.50.
The Potato Pancake was good but was not my favorite item during my meal. The potato and parmesan flavor together were great and the pancake was super crispy and the arugula was nice touch, however, the pancake left a very oily layer in my mouth.
The KFC was phenomenal though. Honey Garlic was my favorite and dare I say my favorite in all of Vancouver. The flavor was very strong, outer part of the chicken was super crispy and the chicken was insanely tender/juicy on the inside. This consistency was the same for the other two KFC dishes. The portions were pretty generous. The cheese powder was my least favorite but still very good; without the cheese powder the chicken didn’t have much flavor.
In the end, my group of 5 could just barely finish all the chicken. Staff are nice and came to check up on us and asked how our meal is often. They were quick to swap out our empty water container. Overall, a very solid KFC establishment and I will be back to see if quality and consistency...
