Dropped by just before noon on a Saturday and was seated promptly. We had three banh mi sandwiches: chicken, special, and meatball. All three tasted great and came out in a reasonable time.
Shortly after we ordered our sandwiches, I wanted to also order a coffee, but the server was nowhere to be found. Then, when we were eating our sandwiches, the server also started eating at another table and had their phone volume on high.
They only turned it off and went behind the cash register when another table came in. When they’d finished eating, I saw them picking their nose with a napkin. They kept twisting the end and sticking it into their nose. When the other table’s food was ready, I saw the server grab their bowls of noodle soup and bring it to them without first washing their hands after the nose picking. I’m just glad there is a degree of separation between their hands and the food via the bowls and baskets, but it certainly was a turnoff. That being said, the food was really good, so we do want to return to try something else. We’ll just have to make sure we go early, pre-nose...
Read moreI have been coming here for years. The epitome of a classic mom and pop Vietnamese restaurant that is CASH ONLY. After coming home from traveling after 2 years, I was eager to eat here again. They were closed for renovations for a while but are open now. I was finally in the area and had to make an appearance. The new layout was fresh! There was even a sign saying that they have been serving the community for 17 years! What a feat, to be able to stay open for so long. The pho broth is dark and practically oilless. Just get the large! Generous portions of tendons and rare beef. I usually also order the Com rice dishes. Chicken and pork combo with meat pie is super yummy. Though they could super size the portions a little bit at almost $20 a plate. ( I remember when it use to be $15 ) Vancouver prices in 2025 is nutty. Still, anybody that wants that home cooking feel needs to eat here....
Read moreDuring errands and getting hungry, my girlfriend said let us go for pho at this hole in the wall place up the street, 2 minutes later my mind was blown! For 27 years I've lived within 5KM of this restaurant, not once did I realized a restaurant was even there. Driving up the street for over 12 years I've always thought it was just housing.
Arriving at 6:00 PM on a Friday night it was dead, not a single customer. By the time we left, it was packed with the hustle and bustle of a full blown restaurant. I didn't like the soup base but the toppings were tasty. I ordered a large as I usually do at a Pho restaurant but this time the large actually felt like a large and not just more soup. $9.95 for a large bowl of Pho.
What I really like about this place was the hot soup was poured into a hot bowl, thus keeping the soup hot. simple logic that a lot of pho restaurants don't...
