Visited on Saturday night about a week ago. Decided to get a chorizo burrito deep fried into a chimichanga for an additional $4. Was intrigued by it being deep fried and including cheese as stated by the picture of the menu. When I was ordering, I was asked by Prabhjeet if I wanted to add extras like cheese and guacamole etc for additional costs. I stated it already comes with cheese as it says on the picture on the menu. She stated that it didn't and it was a cheese "sauce"... hmmmm I don't see cheese sauce on the menu for this item.... anyways, I tried it without paying extra for cheese and it was pretty bland, unflavourful and kinda unappetizing. The cheese sauce it came with was kinda like a D grade 7-11 nacho cheese sauce. The included hot sauce salsa helped give it some sort of eatable flavor but that was so tiny it ran out after a couple of bites... overall, not a good experience, very unappetizing and a waste of time and money when there are much better options in the...

I've introduced a few friends from Mexico to their dishes and they are confirmed with authenticity.
Highly recommend the chicken asada or super veg burrito ahogado (baked with sauce) 𤤠The salsas are to die for. Mouth watering flavors.
Treat yourself to the canella horchata (cold cinnamon rice milk drink) it's crazy delicious and hits the spot to quench your thirst and cool your palette if you're a spice lover like me.
Honestly, try everything on the menu - I've been pleasantly surprised by each item, and eat here regularly. Love that it's owned and operated by Mexicans.
The art on the walls is reminiscent of the film 'Coco' and is so...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThey Americanized their tacos, this spot 4-5 years ago at the Kingsway location served legit Mexican street food, now it's douced in sauces and salsa instead of the simple onion and cilantro, and they even ask you if you want cheese and gauc on it. I don't really blame them because lots of people in Vancouver think Tacofino amazing, this type of energy ruins these once legit places as customers complain about 'dry tacos with no cheese'.
My family lived in Mexico for 15 years and Sal Y Limon used to resemble what I had down there, but now they've lost their simplicity and gone the more tex-mex route. Prices are still great and the staff are really nice, but it tastes more like Tacofino and less like authentic Mexican food you find in Mexico, if that's in your bag then go for it, but it's gonna be...
