Been going to this local butcher shop since they were a very small shop ,when i lived in vancouver they were just around the corner and it is still owned and run by the same family, and I have enjoyed, even more now , going to the new shop.
I love the smoked and cured meats, so having a great butcher shop with really solid prices is key. JNZ is the best.
I've been in a few dozen times and they always deliver, no matter who I'm talking too, always super knowledgeable and friendly !
I've really appreciated the addition of beef products. There are recipes available for all of their old and new selections.
Last visit I ordered a Serbian pepperoni and some Kubassa and was really happy with the flavor. It was a nicely spiced also tried the east van smoked meat, and bought the pepper salami and Speck You’ll get a big flavor from even the thinnest slice of this dense, ruddy ham. It gets boned out before being rubbed down with a cure laced with spices like juniper and bay leaves. Then it is smoked and aged. That spiced cure gives speck a deeper taste that's more intense than prosciutto di Parma. For the record, it's pretty awesome with some roasted sweet potatoes too.
Favorite butcher shop hands down. If you haven't tried it yet and love the meats it's about time you step up to the counter and...

This deli is the shining beacon of excellence amidst a sea of mediocrity. Beautiful interior, and once you step inside your senses are hit with the delicious waft of smoked meats. I find it difficult to leave once I walk in, because I know that by comparison the rest of the world outside the doors of JN&Z smells so much more disappointing.
The offerings here are vast and accommodating. Some of the best bacon I’ve ever had came from these guys, no word of a lie. Sausage? Yep, straight legit. Basically, if they offer it, you can be confident that it’s a top shelf quality product.
The family that runs this are proper legends of the Drive - some of the most friendly, compassionate and honest people you will ever have the fortune of doing business with (or better, making friends with).
You will literally improve your life by getting your meats here. Yes, that’s right - it is a tangible improvement that you and anyone you share your purchases with will feel and notice immediately.
Big ups to...
Read moreIn my bygone era, over half a century past, this locale was a cherished haunt for my family and me, back when we lived a stone's throw away. Should anyone drive from Abbotsford/Langley to here and it takes them 45 minutes, they're either excessively speeding or making things up.
Sadly, the passage of time has seen the area evolve into a bustling hub, not car friendly, a stark contrast to its former glory.
The original pop of this deli, Savo Jeremic and his wife Ivan’s were a figure of my father's generation, (my dad was older), would scarcely recognize the place now, under the stewardship and arrogance of his descendants which is common now. Media spotlighted it years ago how the survivors were going to shutter it forever.
The sausages, once a staple of our visits, have lost their appeal, laden as they are with fats and nitrates that we now consciously must avoid. But at the time with cheese, some rye or French bread, sweet red or white onions, and beer they all tasted dang good! It was a much more enjoyable and simpler time. All...
