- "the little sausage" sandwich = $10 - - adobo fries = $15 - 《Chungry Rating = 9/10》 Shameless Buns just opened their first brick and mortar store on Fraser Street and you bet I was there opening day to give them a try! 🤯 If you've never heard of them before, Shameless Buns is known for their Filipino-inspired sandwiches, sinigang fries, and other goodies. On their menu, you'll still find your classic chicken adobo, crispy Spam, and longaniza sausages, but they've put in their own unique twist and repackaged them into something new, yet still familiar. Everything looked so good, but we ended up going with "The Little Sausage" sandwich and the Adobo Fries. Inside of "The Little Sausage's" nice and toasted bun, you'll find some longaniza sausage and atchara (pickled papaya slaw). I really enjoyed the sweet and spicy flavour profile of the longaniza. It was complemented nicely by the atchara, which gave the sandwich the perfect amount of acidity and crunch. I can't forget to mention their house-made banana ketchup and sriracha mayo! And that egg and fried garlic? So damn good! While I thought the sandwich would be bigger, each bite was jam-packed with flavour. As you can see in the pictures, their Adobo Fries are fully loaded. - Slow braised chicken adobo? Check ✅. - Crispy sinigang fries? Check ✅. I found the fries super interesting! They're savoury and tangy, kind of like salt and vinegar chips, and they loaded that box uppp! They don't hold back on the toppings either. You get tomato, green onion, fried garlic, and a nice drizzle of their garlic calamansi aioli on top. The tanginess of the fries was very strong in the first few bites, but as I worked my way through the box, the toppings and the aioli helped to mellow out some of the acidity. Overall, I really enjoyed everything I tried, and I can't wait to visit again to finally try their spam fries and spaghetti lumpia 🤤

Sarap-sarap! We had the Not your Lola's Chicken Adobo, Jacked Up Coconut, Adobo Fries, and the Filipino Spaghetti Lumpia. All the dishes were delish and too much food for two people 😋 The staff showed great hospitality, and the food came out promptly. Noticed a huge number of delivery services picking up food while we dined in. If I had only one critic, it would be that the dinner temperature was a tad cold inside. The Filipino Spaghetti Lumpia was very unique. We thought it was going to be the typical small rolls that we could share, however this meal sized lumpia was incredible. Lots of flavor, and the crunch of the wrapper adds a nice twist to a classic Filipino dish. The adobo definitely is not you Lolas chicken adobo, but close to it 😆 The meat in the adobo which was used in the sandwich and on the fries was very moist and tender. Both of the sando's were intense with flavors and the pandesal was soft like a pillow. Looking forward to returning and trying some of the other items on the menu! 👌 Didn't see any dessert on the menu, would have been nice to have some turon or sans rival after that fantastic menu. Also didn't see any hot drinks (being that the diner was a tad chilly), a kape would have been nice. Overall, I would highly recommend eating here! Very enjoyable experience! If my photo, and review helped, please leave me a 👍 Salamat!

I was able to try this place out before they opened on Saturday (today is Wednesday) as a kindness. The lady working there (sorry I didn't catch your name) was really nice and shared her experience with shameless buns as they've been growing and her hopes for their new permanent location. I've been hearing a lot about them from family so I dropped by noticing they're door was open. She told me that they weren't open but their kitchen was currently learning how to make the dishes so if I wanted something they could test order with me. So I picked the first thing on the menu and sure enough it was great! I got the 'this ain't your Lola's chicken adobo sandwich' and it was so good I actually didn't take the time to enjoy it. I do remember the meat was well seasoned and juicy. The fries it came with were great even my picky toddler was loving the seasoned fries, I usually try to go by looks/decor, service and taste when reviewing but since they were still preparing to open I'll skip the looks part. They do have a insta-art installation on the entry wall ready though. Taste and service were great so special thanks to the staff at shameless!

3 firsts for me today -- 1 positive, 1 negative, 1 - I'm undecided.

POSITIVE:

FIRST TIME TRYING THE FOOD -- The "Little Sausage" sandwich is super tasty and interesting. I've been curious about Shameless Buns for awhile as I pass by the restaurant fairly often. I did some research on the store a couple of weeks ago and was delighted to read about the background for the place and how it's doing. After a couple of weeks of craving but not doing anything with that craving, I went and ordered something from Shameless Buns for the first time. I was not disappointed. Their fries are pretty good too.

NEGATIVE:

FIRST TIME A BUSINESS HAS ACCUSED ME OF A SCAM -- I have never been accused by a business of trying to scam them until now. As I tried to claim the free offer of fries that came through my email after signing up on the Shameless Buns website, the person taking my order was less than pleased. She demanded to see the email offer (when it was sent), asked me why I didn't claim it right away (geez, there's no deadline on the offer...and why should I rush to do that??), told me that many customers had come in abusing the free fries coupon...I mentioned several times that it was my first visit there. I can understand the frustration experienced, but as someone that has run several businesses as well, I believe it is never a good idea to project those frustrations onto customers new and old...not without proof anyways. I almost left without continuing with my order, but I had made the trek to the place specifically to try their food out, so just received the employee's mistreatment of me silently.

UNDECIDED:

FIRST VISIT to SHAMELESS BUNS WAS NOT PLEASANT -- I love to support small businesses and it so happens that my family is acquainted with one of this restaurant owner's family members. I was expecting to enter into a happier restaurant vibe, as depicted in their social media feeds. Turned out to be the opposite experience for me. I do hope that they implement better staff training. I'm just not sure I'll be around to experience the...

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Matt & Corvette of Shameless Buns for our wedding held on July 8, 2022. Since the day we inquired their availability, Matt & Corvette have been a breeze to work with. They are a super busy food truck - just check their IG @shamelessbuns where they post their schedule frequently - but without fail they were so quick to respond to all of our emails. They were completely upfront and transparent about their pricing and procedures right off the bat. We found this to be such a key determining factor on choosing Shameless Buns because we didn’t have to waste any time putting together a menu THEN get pricing based on our choices. When you are planning your own wedding instead of a through a planner, efficiency and clarity is so important. Their menu was a set menu which some may find restricting, but we felt that it worked with our crowd and how we were planning the structure of our wedding. My husband and I had tried Shameless Buns before we got engaged so we were cautiously confident that the food would be a hit, however, the true test would be determined by any comments among our guests. We are so excited to say that we didn’t hear a single negative comment about the food, Jeepney, or the servers (Geo and his partner). Our guests raved about how fun the concept of Filipino fusion food was, how tasty the food was, and how generous the portions were. Regardless of how generous the portions were, everyone still went back for seconds, too! If you are planning to work with Shameless Buns, my advice is to book them EARLY, and the rest will be totally seamless. Matt & Corvette, from the bottom of our hearts, thank...
